4,757 is actually how much acreage just the Whistler side has. Combine that with Blackcomb's 3,414 acres, and the total acreage is 8,171 at Whistler Blackcomb. That makes it not only the most internationally recognized, but also the biggest ski resort in North America.

Love the video, just two points to make; 1 - whitewater is 20 minutes from Nelson, not 1:30. Easy mistake to make but makes a big difference. 2 - I think you might have a little bias towards Pano lol. It's great, I've got some bias towards it too, I've done a season there before and it's amazing, most of what you said is 100% true, but I think it's only fair to point out that it's not perfect and give a balanced view to anyone seriously considering going there; first and foremost it doesn't exactly get a ton of Snow, roughly 3 - 4 meters per season on average if I remember correctly. About the same as places like Sunshine and Lake Louise, definitely enough to keep it open December through April, but a far cry from the 10+ that places like Whistler, Revelstoke and Whitewater get each year (whitewater gets more than 13 m on average). The second point is that it's not a big party resort, the T-Bar can be pretty fun on the weekend but again, it's not going to be anything like Whistler for example in that regard, and it's separated from it's resort town my a 20 mountain pass drive, so it's not the place to go if skiing isn't your priority (although this can be a pro for many). The third thing is that it doesn't have much in the way of beginner terrain besides the bunny hill, you have to be decently competent to go above the first lift and there aren't any long winding green trails that take advantage of it's absolutely incredible views. Again, I absolutely adore Pano, the views are unmatched, and I think it has some of the best terrain in the province like you said, just wanted to give the counterpoints for anyone interested.
@Skier722 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Agreed, Pano is far from perfect and the snowfall is definitely less than Revy/Kicking Horse/Whitewater etc. Still a great place though. For some reason, I've never been to Revy yet (always driven past it lol), so maybe my mind would be changed with a trip there.

@@michaelsutherland9069 That is typically one of the best times of the year to be up there. Since most of the average snowfall comes in February and March so it should be a great time up there. I am speaking from past experience been going up there for years and this is typically a pretty good time to go. Can get busy on a big powder, but total wait in line time for a lift on a big powder day is at max 30 mins. Avoid Whistler like the plague. Since Vail bought both Whistler & Blackcomb lift tickets have skyrocketed up to $200 a day & condo & cabin rentals cost more then they do in Switzerland while the village is filled with Fat Texans wearing cowboy gear, Russians in head to toe fur & Saudi 's in flowing robes with their concubines in all black following behind them. Not to mention tour guides with flags that herd bus loads of Chinese tourists around the village. Its disgusting because it used to be an awesome family ski resort for families, ski bums & the average person looking for a cool ski vacation.

It was ruined after the Olympics. Not sure when Vail bought it. But it was kind of a north American secret until the Olympics in 2010. Then they updated the highway and the entire world learned about it. Since then it went down hill. Honestly there's much better snow at other more affordable and less busy resorts anyway.

Pretty sure it was 1997, not 96.
