One other nice thing about Invictor Warsuit is that it has the Phobos keyword so Vanguard Spearhead can use Guerrila Tactics on it to withdraw to Strategic Reserves. Could pick up it and a phobos unit it was guarding to deploy elsewhere in support of secondaries.

For the Stormraven, surprised you didn't mention that it's the only vehicle that can transport Dreadnoughts. You can pull some shenanigans with Burning Vengeance in Firestorm. Getting a free round of shooting with a Redemptor or Ballistus, or dropping a Brutalis in your opponent's turn so you can charge next turn. It's a hella expensive strategy, but it's also hella fun

I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure how good it would actually be, but I like the idea of transporting a boxnaught and a melee deathstar in it. You disembark everything all at once, and the Stormraven, the dreadnought, and the melee unit all reroll 1s for an entire turn of uninterrupted pain. It's almost certainly not very efficient, given how distributed the game is at this point, but it seems like fun.

Also: the vanguard spearhead detachments special rule (-1 to hit from enemies outside 12 inches, and +1 to armor save) isn't limited to infantry. So a Storm Raven could benefit from it

The Eliminator "Glitch" is very powerful. If you are in a situation to shoot an enemy character model, you might take it down in 1 turn. 4x quite powerful Precision Shots on a HVT ? Bet on that !

Rhino should be significantly higher for Black Templars; put a pair of 65 point Crusader squads in it and you can fire 4 multimelta shots out of it every turn while it cruises around, and your guys can get out and punch well above their points costs.

It's a bit curious seeing the Str 9 macroplasma on the redemptor listed as a weakness, but a Str 9 multimelta on a BT vehicle constantly noted like it's some kind of Macross supercannon.

The stormhawk is still a bit of a slap in the face to me for Imperial Fists from 9th to 10th. To go from a hard hitting, high risk, high reward strike fighter that got bonuses to attacking units with the flying or hover key word on top of Legacy of Dorn for the Las talon and missiles against vehicles and transports to losing all of that in favor of a chapter "themed" doctrine giving bonuses only up units that don't move... Maybe some day GW will give incentive to play Fists, but for now, I'll be sticking with Templars.

I’ll argue for the servo turrets, I’ve had them kill so many things in overwatch just because the enemy wasn’t prepared for it. Especially if your Oath target survives and you’re able to finish it in overwatch. Otherwise the Ironstorm rerolls help so much for consistency.

I would rank the predator destructor further up, its a highly effective anti infantry machine with AP -2 heavy bolters against space marines and guard shreading any opposition with the main gun being utterly devastating against heavy infantry such as terminators and field ordenance batteries

I have found that the firestrike servo turret can be a menace when used well particularly when overwatching against damaged vehicles as it can reliably finish them off in your opponents turn

Something NO ONE is talking about with the Stromraven is that the Vanguard Spearhead detachments special rule (anything shooting at a unit outside 12" has -1 to hit, and your unit has the benefit of cover) is NOT locked to infantry units. So its a T10, 14W, 2+ armor save model that is -1 to hit and -1 dmg. And before you say "aircraft cant benefit from cover" one must look at the hover rules. They state "if a model is chosen to hover it loses the AIRCRAFT key word, and it loses all accociated rules for being an AIRCRAFT model" Sounds like a terrifyingly hard to kill transport that can fly to me. Especially if youre able to hide it from enemy shooting turn 1. Not to mention it can bring a dreadnaught along for the lulz

I never play without my Razorback, it was my first piece of armour that wasn't a Dreadnaught. And all my infantry is Primaris lol EXCEPT for my Scout proxies (run Palanite Enforcers as Scouts) why give it a 6" pregame moving meaning even without advancing (I run Firestorm Assault Force) They can reliably move 16" to drop a squad of scouts onto a mid field objective while also giving them cover/concealment and getting me a half decent piece of midfield fire support that will often get ignored as I also run a Land Raider, Predator Destructor, and a Dreadnaught in a 2,000 point game. This strategy has gotten me a few wins and it ain't even an expensive one either at 150 points for the weaponized transport with its Scouts.

I wish Stormtalons and Stormravens were usable, but 10e’s Fly rules are absolutely terrible. At least it’s universal so there isn’t one or two factions that dominate the air. And because all Flyers suck and no one takes them, we don’t have to worry about equipping Anti-Air weapons. Regardless, I’ll think I’ll use at least one of my Flyers in my next Space Marines battle, to try it and see if there’s something that can be exploited. I used to love the Impulsor for delivering 5 Bladeguards + Apothecary onto a midfield objective on Turn 1, but 10e’s restrictive squad rules don’t allow it - or force you to pay for 6 but only bring 5 to fit the leader in the Impulsor. Fortunately, Black Templars are my primary army so I can take 5 Sword Brethren and a leader. Although, in 10e, I’ve been bringing the Repulsor more often, which fits 10 Sword Brethren and 2 characters. I have a Land Raider Redeemer/Crusader on-order and can’t wait to get it so I can fit 6 Aggressors with a Grav-Captain and Bio-Apothecary. I just hope GW doesn’t nerf the combo before I get to use them. I’d rank the Brutalis Dread higher than #12. It’s better in 10e because its Multi-Meltas are free. For the Brutalis to work, you MUST have more tempting targets in your army, which is why I always use the Brutalis in conjunction with a Redemptor (which takes most of the heat) in my Black Templars armies. I haven’t tried the Brutalis in my Ultramarines army yet; I take the Ballistus Dread instead.

Gladiator Valiant fits perfectly for Salamanders, it's getting assault keyword and +1S when he's at 12'', same goes for Brutalis - this fella is a friggin killer, especially if you field 2 or 3 of them. As for Repulsor, he's my transport for Eradicators, Aggressors or Bladeguards, saddly he can't have 7 gravis models inside which to me means no hero for Aggressors, but then again, Ventris and death from above :) Basically I like everything for my Firestormy Salamanders. (I know Ventris and Salamanders ?! He was granted a title of a honorary Salamander ;))

Stormraven with firstborn dreadnought and 10 devastator squad. Play salamanders. That's 5 multimeltas on board plus one twin liked in the plane. Heavy flamer on dreadnought. Hurricane bolters. If the plane is shot, use the stratagem to disembark and completely destroy whatever shot at the plane. If the plane is shot down, you can eliminate your "EXTRA" marines with bolters if you take casualties. Devs can reroll 1s and no one wants to shoot it down.

Great list, though I’d lower the redemptor a bit, maybe raise the executioner. Redemptors I find just ok unless you get the perfect target (blob of elite infantry) and they can threaten combat. Otherwise I’d just take a better shooting unit for less

The landraiders also have the smoke keybword for steath and cover then u can add armor of contempt. I know its 2 strats but i had mine survive a whole round in the mid bord worth it

I run a stormraven + assault centurions and brutalis dread. dropped behind enemy battleline to smash anti tank+ long range/ psyker anti infantry. Combined with a sword brethren push and heavy anti tank it's fairly devastating. I think Stormraven should be pushed higher due to the fact that it can drop + protect armour(dread), which the other transports can't compete with.

My List contains a Redeemer Land Raider with 5 Stormterminators and a Termi Chaplain in it - Death Combo like a Hearse ! Take the Battle to the enemy by sheer "Fire Power" and lots and lots of close quarter t*rr*r on enemy units. Overwatch with the Raiders Flamers while charging on battle shock tests from the Termis protected by the Chaplain ? Very risky, but it's just for the LOL ! But stil: this is a very good list, it helps to improve the vehicle firepower concept ! But: did the Lancer haven't got nerfed recently ?

What's the point of the gladiator lancer or any space marine vehicle besides the whirlwind when my chaos opponent uses a Nurgle land raider with sustained hit lascanons re rolling 1's and blasts any vehicles I have when I can't even shoot back cos of Dark Obscuration, a single command point strategem. That single strategem makes almost the entire Space Marine vehicle roster completely useless. Which is a shame because its not fun to leave everything on the shelf.

just sayin, but the reaper is 12 shots potentially sustain 2 on 5 up or sustain 1 on 5 up vs vehicle with twinlink Dev wounds.. they have the best dmg synergy of the game! they can chew trough a lot of things! oh and just put 3 centurion devastators in the repulsor. you'll blow up anything on the objective you send them on and keep it for the rest of the game.

The fixed unit size really, REALLY screw over transport vehicles, especially the Land Raider Crusader and its 16 slot that it can barely make any use of (Its very, VERY hard to justify picking it up over the redeemer unless you are in that ONE case where you are transporting something that's bigger than 14 slot).

Lol at the repeated 'gets better in black templars'. One of the weird things about the way the detachments and the divergent chapters are interacting is that we are getting rather unintended matches. So the competitive scene has no Iron Hands but stacks of Iron Storm BT lists. Stormlance thunderwolves, Ultramarines vanguard because of Ventris etc etc 😂😂

Only 2 repulsars but both have defensive array. The executioner has less shots I believe. What you see? Show him the unit card. If that dont work it is represented by the storm bolters, frag launcher boxes on the turret and the rear missile or gun

Your opponent is being a dick, the various boxes, launchers and odds and ends around the turret are the defensive array, they are on the datasheet and not an optional take.

weirdly they’re considered neither infantry nor vehicles. As the resident Mounted unit in the codex they’re defensible in Stormlance but they’re still not particularly scary in terms of damage output.

It's just a vehicle with the walker keyword. As far as space marines go all dreadnoughts as well as the invictor tactical warsuit are walkers. Certain abilities or stratagems may call for walkers in particular.

The Gladiator versatility, despite GW’s continued effort to make parts non-interchangable, is probably the only worthwhile shitmaris vehicle they’ve made. Look at the rest and tell me they haven’t lost it. A lot of these things were usable in 9th and now everything has been neutered and micromanaged to death. All I see is a list of failures, from aesthetics to rules.

The vindicator "being a bit too pricey" is kinda bs when you look at imperial guard tanks. This tank is literally cheaper and does the same if not more damage than a leman russ demolisher. While being 10 points less than the imperial guard version. To me its bar none the best anti anything vehicle you can take. It can basically one shot every model aside from titans as long as you get lucky, so for 190 points it seems almost dumb not to take it, even out of the ironstorm spearhead its just too good

I *also* have Templars and you have a good point there about the proxy. A Contemptor with two claws wouldn't be a bad shout either, considering we have access to so many abandoned ones these days. It still doesn't make it an outstandingly good unit, but I find it hilarious that as written it seems the Firestrike servo-turret can benefit from the firestorm assault force rules like anything else. 3+d6" is a lot faster than just 3", and in 12" it goes up to strength 11. Might be worth it just to baffle your opponent with a unit they'd never otherwise see, and with those buffs it actually becomes mid tier, rather than bottom of the list.

I'm just happy Land Raiders and Repulsors are finally good (Or I guess good again in the case of the former). I like my big chunky heavy weapon platform/transport hybrids, it's a core part of playing marines for me. Otherwise, only real thing I find noticeable about the current state of Space marine vechiles is that Hammerfall bunkers still can't deep strike. I don't even think it would make them good, just somewhat fun to play.

Making Hammerfalls deep-strike would be awesome and honestly such a great tool. Expensive sure, but it opens up so many strategies, like blocking an enemy's route with a fairly tough roadblock or coralling them away from an area or point.

Uggh, I love my Vindicators when they actually vindicate. I did like 36 wounds and downed IG Stormsword in one go. Then the very next turn I rolled like six 1s & two 2s for damage. It's just so swingy.

I was literally researching this last night, trying to figure out what model would be a great centerpiece model for a Space Marine army. Not in terms of gameplay, but just looks. That could be a great video idea, best centerpiece model for each faction.

I’ve always wondered this. How viable is it to bring an imperial knight ally with your space marines? I like Dark Angels, so love the idea of bringing a knight in their color scheme alongside them. But I don’t know if it’ll even be worth it.

Perfectly fine. Space marines dont natively have anything in that weight class so it can plug a hole. Just know wat it will be doing and adjust accordingly

From a competitive stand point... Not very viable at all. A knight not having it's re roll of 1, it's 6+ fnp and no access to knight strats (mainly rotate ion shields) just makes them a big unbuffable mediocre points sink

In not so competitive environment, the overwatch on servo-strike turrent is actually quite potent. If the field is slightly open, they can threaten any medium tough vehicle that goes in 24" range with overwatch.Worked quite well for me in a friendly game a few days ago. Nice gimmick at least.

Ok so I bought a used 40k model lot on EBay and what I received does not match the pics in the post. Dude gave me a partial refund and we called it square. Stuff happens, we adapt, we overcome, we carry on. What I have look like 3 transports in various stages of being built. I tell you this so I can ask for a video detailing the various differences between space marine transport models that are still playable on the TT. Maybe even do one on the tanks since 2 of these have turrets.

50% of my army is legends now and most of it is just getting more overcosted as releases come out. Still doesn't change the fact I think Deredeos and Levithans are cool. GW can nerf them on the table but they will never nerf them in my heart!
