hey comp player here while i agree on hammer head for the most part, its not bad on EVERY made and actually feels good on zones and is played somewhat often there just a heads up!

I think the CONCEPT of Mahi in Splatoon 3, of a map that has the same aesthetic and gimmick but completely changes its layout between modes has so much potential. You kind of see it in Mahi, with things like the Tower path being ingrained into the stage, but imagine a map that has the oppurtunity to be COMPLETELY tailor made for each mode's strengths to its fullest potential

my reaction to watching this video was basically "ok yeah normal bad map list at the bottom, Hammerhead, Wahoo, Scorch is a little too low imo but I can see if you're taking turf war into account since it doesnt have the ramp, Eeltail BARNICLE AND DIME??????" I genuinely gasped audibly i'm not even joking I will say that my opinions on the maps in this game are mostly formed with competitive first and foremost, I barely play Turf War in any of the games but especially 3's is not the best. I also weigh maps that have one or two modes that are really solid but the others being terrible over maps that have all modes functional but none really stand out I feel like my personal ranking would probably be F Tier- Hammerhead, Eeltail, Mincemeat: Maps that are terrible on all modes both casually and competitively, and have almost no redeeming qualities D Tier- Wahoo, Bluefin: Maps that maybe have one mode that feels at least mildly funcitonal, but are still generally not fun to play C Tier- Scorch, Undertow, Humpback, Shipshape, Flounder, Brinewater, and Sturgeon: Maps that have one or two modes that I think they work well on (RM and Clams for Scorch, RM and Zones for Humpback, TC and Zones for Shipshape, Zones for Flounder and Brinewater, and Tower for Sturgeon) but are poorly designed overall when looking at every mode B Tier- Mahi, Hagglefish, Marlin, Lumeria: Maps that are functional on most modes but either have generic designs, their gimmicks inhibit them, or in the case of Mahi, a map thats really REALLY good on Zones, and bad for all the other ranked modes A Tier- Barnicle, Unami, Manta, Museum: Maps that are solid on at least 3 out of the 4 ranked modes S Tier- Mako, ROMen, Inkblot: ROMen has, in my opinion, the single most fun map and mode combination in the game, being ROMen Zones, Clams is also pretty solid on the map, and Tower Control, while not that widespread competitively, is still a perfectly serviceable mode on the map. Inkblot works AMAZINGLY on Tower Control and Clams, and while Zones can be a bit awkward on it, I still think all modes are enjoyable to play overall. MakoMart, in my opinion, is probably my option for best map in Splatoon 3 for COMPETITIVE specifically. Every mode but Rainmaker here is amazing, and even Rainmaker is pretty solid. Zones and Tower especially feel great to play

As someone who's favorite map was Walleye back in the day... Yeah wtf did they do to Hammerhead, it's cool seeing the bridge be completed from a lore perspective but they didn't have to reincarnate it as Hammerhead 2

This list his list is completely different from what mine would be as someone who plays only ranked modes. Mincemeat Metalworks was my least favorite map by far, but then it got reworked into an ok map. Now my least favorite would probably be Scorch Gorge or Eeltail Alley.

@@platy4700 Do you mean Mincemeat Metalworks? Eeltail Alley never got an actual rework. It got some small quality of life changes, but nothing major except the added jump to the middle of the map for turf war only. Zones Eeltail is the worst map mode combination by far, but I think it may not be the worst map overall because Eeltail on the other modes are a bit more tolerable.

As much as I hate this game I like it, don’t play it as often as splatoon 2 , splatoon 1 I could play for hours not get bored . Splatoon 3 I can manage an hour tops

Wait people don't like Wahoo World? No joke it was one of my fav in 2. The ones I usually heard people complain about in 2 were Moray Towers (which I like), Walleye Warehouse, and Shellendorf Institute.

No everyone hated wahoo cause the timers. It was kind of fine on zones, but every other mode had 1 approach option get deleted for half the game

Moray towers were just awful. Insanely huge, vertically. Took forever to get to the center, made worse when your characters are floaty and take forever to fall. Favored chargers too heavily. Now getting a destroyed moray towers would be cool, the height could be reduced to a third of its old height (still the tallest part of the map), but the spawn points are at different locations, the debris would create new terrain.
