There were a few missing here. Mark Roth had TWO 299 games, one at the 1975 King Louie Open, and the other at the 1987 Greater Buffalo Open. Good video though!

so easily the world forgets the great performances of the past masters of the game but as long as they are in our memories they live on----------------

On one of those (I believe in '74) Earl left the solid 9 standing. That means the head pin goes straight back and takes out the 5 before the ball hits it. On a "perfect" shot for a lefty the ball needs to take out the 5, which deflects the ball slightly to the right, which will then hit the 9 pin. If there is no deflection of the ball, it will miss the 9.

I really wish Earl Anthony's 299 game, December of 1974 in Hawaii, could be posted.....ringing 9 on his last ball.

One that everyone forgets is earl anthony had a 299 game in the Cleveland open in 1974. It was a solid 9 which is even more unlucky than a ten pin.
