The sex chemicals, drugs and entitlement is a nasty mixture that they depend on to feel good about themselves.

Oh yes, rich and weird go hand in hand. For your exact reasoning. The money gets them access to things they wouldn't normally have access to, and more frequently. Because ultimately they are bored and have no purpose in life. They have nothing to work for, they have everything they want and have burnt out their pleasure centers of their brains and then just go deeper and deeper into corruption (sin). They need God....they are gross.......I wouldn't ever want to date a rich dude unless he was EXTREMELY grounded......and even then..................they would have to convince me hard and they aren't gonna see any value in me because I am fat, lol. @janetdigest3 ай бұрын
well, to be fair, the book and film for Call Me By Your Name is about a young teenage boy and a grown man studying for his dissertation under the boy’s father’s tutelage. So, it already is a lot less romantic, and this is coming from someone who was obsessed with Timothee Chalamet and loved the movie in my teens and got turned off by it in my adult life.
@cjn87193 ай бұрын
The movie is about an underaged teenage boy being groomed by an adult man. It was never romantic
@Illyriad3 ай бұрын
@@janetdigest What does that have to do with whether it was romantic or not? And this is coming from someone who was 16 (younger than Elio) and dating a 24 year old, and has had 19 years to reflect on it. "To be fair," 17 is an old teenager, not a young teenager - more than half way through - and your aversion to their relationship is just your personal preference and shouldn't be forced onto other people. At 16 I had the right to choose who I dated and slept with, absolutely fuck you if you think you have the right to take that right away from anyone.

If he was scary around some women, they might let him do whatever he wanted to escape alive. His family could clean up a crime. There are probably some who ghosted him after their experience with him. The unstable women might have stuck around, but it's not their fault he hurt them and said those things to them. I don't know what happened in his life for him to be like this. He does come from a rich family, which means abuse can be enabled and I think his aunt wrote a book about her abuse. Look up Surviving My Birthright by Casey Hammer. This behaviour and those proclivities might be normalized with these people who come from old money and we're just not aware of it because we're not in those circles.
