I'm in my late seventies. These cartoons ran nonstop on Saturday morning. The other staple fare was old movies and so I recognize most of the stars from the Thirties and Forties who are caricatured so well.

These days Saturday morning cartoons are non stop advertisements

@toyotaprius79 At least MeTV and MeTV Toons are trying to bring back the Saturday morning cartoon line-up. And the old movies were more for Saturday afternoons after the cartoons were over, which actually is better than six to eight hours of sports. Heck, I'll even take a mix of old movies and old reruns of classic TV shows (and maybe a campy syndicated show that has a cult following. You know, like OG Star Trek, Xena Warrior Princess, or really, any fantasy or sci-fi show that the geeks say is "too good for television").

In the synopsis for “Dog Gone Modern” in the book, “Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies: A Complete Illustrated Guide to the Warner Bros. Cartoons”, this is said at the end: “A great score, if ‘At Your Service Madame’ happens to be your favorite song and you like hearing it over and over”.

Actually, the song never came alive for me until I heard it with that bass line in Dog Gone Modern. And, of course, there is the magnificent version of The Little Old Fashioned Music Box in this film as well.

All I could hear when I hear this song is Ted Pierce's hilarious W.C. Fields impression.

Isn't the pig family in "At Your Service, Madame" the same one from the short where one of the piglets gets force-fed all the food in the world by a mad scientist?
