Not his real laugh. You can tell sometimes on 8 out of 10 cats because he'll laugh silently. My mate was in the audience and said he laughed normally off camera. Suppose it's a marketing technique
@checksanity2 жыл бұрын
@@tmb5554 Not accurate. I’m not saying you or your friend was lying, just neglecting a certain fact. People have different levels and types of laughs. My own can be all over the map from boisterous to completely silent wheezing, or something in between. Regarding Jimmy, I’ve been in long line at a Dairy Queen during a comedy festival (JFL in Canada) and realized he was also in it because I heard him laugh. I looked further up ahead and saw him. There was an American comedian (Hannibal Buress) behind me in line that he ended up hanging around to meeting up and chatting with, so I got to hear him chuckle and laugh for awhile.

Big Fat Quiz is so much fun! They do a new one each year and then also do a quiz for each decade. It’s always a blast. Lots of recurring segments and guests. You should also check out “8 out of 10 cats does countdown”, “Taskmaster”, and “QI’ if you enjoyed this kind of shenanigans.
@MzKitka2 жыл бұрын
Big Fat Quiz and other British panel shows have legitimately helped me weather the harder bouts of my depression. Sometimes I see a new episode of something and put it into Watch Later for when I get a depression dip. 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown (and the original), QI (all series), Mock the Week, Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You. If you haven't dived in yet, just pick anything and enjoy. I started watching QI during my post partum depression and I'm serious, it may well be the reason I didn't kill myself or run away. It lifted me up every evening while I washed bottles and cried in my kitchen sink. That's some fucking good comedy there.
@loscheiner2 жыл бұрын
@@MzKitka I’m glad you found a way to cope with some of your sadness and depression. I wonder if it’s because these shows remind you that the world (and this life) is weird, and wonderful, and absurd. I know at least that is what I love about them. I hope you find all the healing you need my friend.

The way they talk about the whole freedom fries thing is misleading. The house didn't pass some sort of law that renamed them for the whole country. They just changed what they were calling French fries and French toast in their cafeterias. It was literally the least they could do, and it was the pettiest bullshit in the world.
@sespider2 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The whole Freedom Fried thing started with a single restaurant and went viral. Resulting in a petition with enough votes that Congress was forced to respond to it. Smartly (very rare for Congress), they voted no on changing it for the country and temporarily changed it for their cafeteria as a sign of respect.
@BrianHall19852 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. And, considering the other things that they passed at about the same time (e.g. Patriot Act), this really was a much better use of their time than the other things that they did.

Congress didn't come up with the Freedom Fries thing. They simply mentioned it a few times in passing. It was a restaurant owner that started using the name. And then it basically went viral and led to a petition. The petition had enough votes that it required Congress to vote on it. I'm no fan of Bush but he kept reading because a single plane crashing into a single building does not warrant a immediate response. It could very well be nothing more than an tragic accident. When it happened again, it was clearly no accident. Bush then ended his visit with the kids and addressed the nation.

Bush *famously* sat and made worried faces for more than 6 minutes after being informed of the 2nd plane. Clearly not giving the impression of a Commander-In-Chief ready to take charge of a difficult situation. More like a dolt waiting to be told what to do next.
@bradleybarnett95452 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wondered about Bush that day. It's hard work to not shake your head at everything G. Dubya, but we all pile on at every little thing. I recall he asked a journo to take off his dark glasses in the rose garden. Turned out the journo was sight impaired. People howled for 2 or 3 news days about how insensitive George was. Okay, unfortunate circumstance. But I always remove my shades just to greet people in the street. For the unimpaired, it's good manners. Mind you, if there was a mile long queue to slap his stupid face, I'd cancel all my appointments & line up.
@sigi96692 жыл бұрын
I do believe that Bush didn't end the reading upon learning about the second hit, and thus the start of the war. That's what the outrage was about. Whether one should deem those seven minutes "lost time" is another question.
