The hate was because it was designed to replace Ninjago, when Ninjago had ended after 2 seasons. I assume many fans thought that was too early and fans wanted Ninjago back. Another reason is probably that kids liked the Ninjago sets WAY more than Chima.

Chima is great in my opinion. It's not a masterpiece, but neither is Ninjago. Yes, it can be childish and cringe at times, because like Ninjago, it was made for kids (LEGO is a kids toy after all). Had it lived up to a few seasons, it likely would have taken on a more serious tone as well.

I was so thrilled having to see Chima and Ninjago crossover in few parts of the episodes. I have watched all the episodes/seasons from Chima and wished it will come back soon... But guess I heard rumors nobody liked Chima anyways. I also watched Ninjago a year after they release their first official episode. I was so happy to see Ninjago still thriving stronger. And lastly, I watched Nexo Knights beside Ninjago. Still missed those fave seasons. But we will NEVER quit on Ninjago because Ninjas Never Quits!

As an animal lover I liked Chima. It had cool vehicles and I thought the lifestyles of the different tribes was interesting. You could say that because of the haters not willing to give them a chance it didn't get to "unleash it's full potential" but I liked both shows so I pick no sides when others compare them. They played by different rules because they were different stories about Very different worlds. I never saw what the big deal was in the first place.

With Ninjago: Dragons Rising combining all the realms, it leaves the door open for the show to finally do a proper crossover with The Legends of Chima. Interestingly, last month, one of the lead writers for Dragons Rising, Doc Wyatt, said on Twitter that he wasn't allowed to answer any Chima related questions until 2024. That seems to be a confirmation that the brand is returning for Dragons Rising Season 2. Considering Tommy Andreasen, one of the original co-creators of Ninjago, has posted a lot of unofficial lore on Twitter connecting Ninjago to Chima (like the Serpentine originally being from Chima before being banished to Ninjago by the First Spinjitzu Master), I'd like to see a lot of it finally become official.

I got into Chima on a whim because I was just bored at the time: one of best decisions I ever made. I don’t know about anybody else but I loved legends of Chima. Even to this day that show has made a place in my heart and I have definitely gone back and rewatched episodes. Of course back then I never realized that the show was supposed to replace Ninjago but even still I didn’t see it as a replacement, only has another Lego show to enjoy. I wish it grew like Ninjago did, and to see the story continue. I definitely wouldn’t of minded see Ninjago and Chima both continue on simultaneously over the years. As for Nexo Knights on a side note, that show couldn’t compare to either of these two in my opinion. I might be over exaggerating this a bit but I felt NEXO Knights was too two dimensional and flat just from watching the first few episodes.

Honestly first time I saw Chima I thought “What is that sh*t?” But later I really liked it especially the season 2 and 3 (the scorpion king and fire VS ice). And in the end I was like Where is more? So yeah I think Chima was great but Ninjago was here first and was much better.

I have always LOVED Lego. When I was 8 (or something like that) Chima was my favorite show and I was crazy about it. Then I got really into Ninjago around 11, and when I saw the crossover in season 5 it thrilled me beyond description. The fact that the two are simply separate realms just makes sense. I haven't seen Nexo Knights, Monkie Kid, or Hidden Side, but from what I know about them I think they should probably be realms too.

My only issue with Chima (aside from the at times flat characters and bad voice acting) was that the Crawlers never got redeemed like the other villains did, even though their arc was essentially not being able to properly cope with the power of chi like the other animals. As a kid, I thought they were gonna have the heroes bring them in and teach them how to control it, but instead they just got abandoned in a cave and were essentially left to die. Part of this was because bats were my favorite animal, of course Side note: I love the fan theory that the bats aren’t stupid, they just talk super high pitched (aka echolocation) so people think they can’t talk and thus think they’re stupid

Since people are mentioning Nexo Knights, I’ll talk about it. Ninjago keeps killing off all the interesting LEGO shows that I also liked. Nexo Knights was me 2nd favorite LEGO show, too bad it was cancelled when Season 5 sets were announced. Season 5 could’ve been a fitting conclusion for Nexo Knights. Season 5 could’ve ended with Claymore facing off Monstrox, and Jestro would sacrifice himself for the greater good, and say “...I really am a clown, aren’t I?” This sentence means he’s a clown (or idiot) for assisting Monstrox for taking over the world. What satisfying conclusion do you think Nexo Knights should had?
