Idk about anyone else but Case is reminding me a lot of 106 from Trepang2. -Ski mask with goggles -super solders -considered freaks by others -doesn’t seem too surprised at dealing with zombies lol -Both have takedowns that kinda illustrate how powerful they are. -both are aggressively quiet

I feel like removing any identifiers from Case is weird. It worked with Bell to make it so anyone could imagine either themselves or some other version of the character as Bell, making the twist all the more interesting. But Case has a semi-defined character. It’s disappointing to see him not even speak once.

My biggest problem is I don’t really think case should be a mute. Bell’s character makes sense why they were the way they were. But I feel like since case has a set name, backstory, in relations with the main characters, I feel like he should’ve just talk. It feels like it added some level of frustration with the story. But I still think the story was really good.

To answer your question about the lean towards silent protagonists. The old mw games were pretty similar to sherlock holmes stories. The main character tags alongside the narrator or player in this case. This was to keep you immersed instead of having the character go "oh god whats happening guys im so scared" or just overall taking you out when your character has a reaction thats not fitting. It is funny saying all that though because its reversed. The black ops games have been having a lean towards semi silent protagonists vs the new mw series where the characters have to be voiced by the rock

on the mission high rollers I think there was a time we saw him without his mask because once you play as Sev on that mission you can see 2 Luttazzi guards interrogating a person they capture and we know that on that mission Case surrendered to the Luttazzi

Heres one thing. Theres a theory about Case being Bell. Adler worked for the same company that made Case a super soldier and brainwashed him. Same date that Adler shot Bell. And Bell is also in the Black Ops 6 multiplayer and is in the cover. Usually this means a character is not dead and survived. For example, the canon ending in Black Ops 2 is when you shoot Mason in the leg not the head. Mason is still alive but nowhere to be seen. Cause in the ending of the secret ending Woods hasn't seen mason for 30 years but he was still alive. Maybe the timeline will change. And maybe the reason Case is wearing a hood just like Bell is because he is Bell. This is just a theory. A GAME THEORY (Matpat reference) and sorry for the incredibly long comment. Also Case and Jane are both confirmed to live in the ending by Treyarch

I personally really hate playing silent protagonists. I love my character having banter with the other characters during missions like in IW or WWII. I generally really like connecting to the person I play as, I don’t really like the whole “imagine yourself as this character” (especially since I’m not a man lol). I kinda like how bo3 did it where you could choose the gender of the protagonist and they still *talked*.
