EVERY TRUE 4WD NEEDS THIS FROM FACTORY, EVEN THE RANGER RAPTOR !
I believe every true off-road 4WD needs a onboard air supply system. Taking our vehicles off-road we are required to reduce pressures to both protect the tyres and give us the best advantage over that particular terrain. I like to fit a factory looking quality air system to the vehicle permanently so I always have on board air when required. The great thing about having it mounted permanently is you never forget it, it’s always there ready to pump up tyre, sporting equipment, inflatable pool toys, camping mattress etc.
We fitted the ARB single air compressor along side the 4L air tank, x2 quick ARB fittings in the side steps with braided lines.
The light force switch panel is most factory style upgrade I’ve seen to mount switches in the Ranger Raptor.

I put my air connection in the rear bumper so I can get to either side and also a trailer with the one standard hose which worked realy well for me and looked like it was factory as well. Liked the video well done

The last vehicle I’ve seen with onboard air as a standard feature: Hummer H2. Wish my Jeep had it standard, but I seldom air down/up - maybe only 2-3 times per year.

I was so close to buying a raptor but not a fan of the engine how much it can tow because I need to tow 3 plus tone so I went with the wild track but why ford doesn’t chuck the 3.2L as an option or ever better a v6 muffles me and that is definitely a mod I want to do to my ranger great video mate

I like it. Only my opinion if you chose to take it mudding or someone else choses to take it offroad in mud or snow them steps are gonna be covered in mud snow or such, and itll be a pain in my opinion to clear all that crap to get to the fitting, and water crossings sitting in a dirty bog hole or water maybe can get in there possibly and full it with dirt and such.

Yeah good point mate, i don’t plan to go mudding in this truck but those covers are extremely well designed to keep out all the dust etc. However if you are going into extremely bad conditions could always put a rag and zip tie over it. Not ideal but in worst case situations.

Hey Jim, I don’t think so mate I’ve mounted them in that location on many of my vehicles and the ARB dust covers work extremely well to stop the dirt getting into the fitting.

Hi Ty, I’ve just received my new raptor this week, and its going into ARB next week. I love the idea of the air compressor, as I do a lot of beach and 4wd driving. I’m sick of carrying around a air compressor. However I wanted to ask you will the air compressor fit in if you have a second fuel filter and catch can? After my experience from my NP300 where I had to get all the injectors replaced because of bad diesel from shell (who would not accept reliability) I’m now a fan of secondary fuel filters. Apparently high tech Diesel engines and poor quality diesel in Australia, I’m not going to make that mistake again. Does the air compressor fit under the rear seat? Also great vids you do.

Fantatic video! I was told by local dealer that if the compressor is installed in engine bay, it will not last long because the seals will melt from the heat of the engine. Local dealer has no idea what he’s talking about. These ARB compressors run under extreme conditions and you won’t have an issue.

My Ranger Raptor 2021 got broken the Electric Steering gear and I have it 2 moths parked on the dealer since Ford Argentina is not being able to import this part. Do you Know if this part is compatible with Conventiona Ranger? It might be easier to find for conventional Ranger.

Having the tank Phil saves a bit more time however I haven’t timed it. My guess it a few minutes per Tyre. The F-250 is super quick with the dual ARB compressor 9L tank. You’ve given me a good idea for video but 😁👍🏼

Thanks mate ! The compressor is above the air box intake so it doesn’t affect the wading depth of the raptor at all.

The current hilux I would not touch till the dpf issues are sorted. The raptor is just next level and I love it, if you haven’t driven one go to a dealer and take one for a drive.

Unfortunately Toyotas top spec model Hilux “Rugged X” doesn’t have a chance against the Ford Ranger Raptor with off-road capability. Standard Hilux and standard ranger are both capable but the dpf problems with Toyota puts the Ranger on top.

ARB only give a 2 year warranty. Any item fitted in the ford factory needs to be covered by the 5 year new car warranty. Why would ford cover that 3 year gap if ARB themselves won’t.

If an item was co developed with ford Performance and ARB I’m sure they would work on a warranty together. But 5 year warranty wouldn’t cover wear and tear just like on your vehicle wear and tear items are not covered. Again it would depend on what part was at fault if something happen.

Just like manual transmissions... we all want them, in theory, except only like 5% actually buy them. I'd have bought a manual transmission ranger, if i could have... and they could have done that... just slapped the bronco manual in there. @@TyFenwick It looks badass. Thats kinda all people are wanting. I spend quite a bit of time on forest roads and two tracks certain times of the year. I've got a Ford 250 gasser all stock. Last Sept. took that truck everywhere I was told I would ABSOLUTELY need an ATV, roads are just too nasty! I didn't even need to lock my hubs. Pulled the mirrors in and just did some careful driving. Can't tell you how many lifted diesels on 35's and 37's I pass and people just freak out where I'm going with my truck and its not even close to "extreme". Raptors are made for bombing down desert roads and I've never seen one of the pavement.

O.K. So you want an air compressor on your off road truck. Let's add more weight, reliability of the compressor especially in cold climate. AIR FREEZING. So now you'll need an air dryer. Lets add more weight. I think I will just buy a portable compressor so when I'm not off roading. I don't have the extra weight.
