Ive been playing ball since release and had hundreds of hours in the first month, some of these I didnt even know about. Like, breaking LOS allows you to boop more than once is crazy. I wonder if this can be combined with a normal double or drop boop tech to get 2 boops in rapid succession? Also had no clue you could cancel fireball with a ping. How does the increased PD height work?

Thank you for making this video, its so good :D! I have a question. Is there a specific name for a U turn Strafe boop (maybe this is it's name xd)? Like you go forward (whole time pressing W), get into fireball, let go of the hook (so it's not a rebound), strafe with your mouse along the wall, and bounce from a side wall to finish your U turn, still remain in fireball and maybe hit someone with it. The place where I found this one possible is on Colosseo, in front of on the icecream truck there is a big painting on a wall. So doing it under the painting is possible.

as shown in the video you dont actually have to turn your camera to do 180 rebounds. instead you can go forward into a wall then as you hit the wall go backwards

But since you included variations of walljumps and bounces, you could add "tightrope bounce" which is when you bounce off of an object located too high for a normal bounce to work, there is also the "bounce while holding grapple" such as the first point rollout for Hollywood and eichewalde. Also there is the "grappled bounce off of a player", not really sure how to explain this one but i have a clip or two. Love to see my fireball corner jump in the vid btw

I believe lots of people love to minmax using this type of jank glitchy game engine mechanics interactions. I'm on the other side of the spectrum. I condemn the situation on the Queen's Street map (was that the name?) already, when two similarly looking ledges are placed 3 meters apart, yet one of them is all that it looks like, but the other can't be stood on, the character slips off. The whole game should've been scrubbed off of such jank, if it were up to me. But I can foresee to that the counterargument of "boohoo, killing all the fun," it's like a religion thing. Still can't get serious about games that have such stuff in them. I prefer to agree with people who argue it's bad design.

@@kirillnezhentsev7700 I understand where your coming from but a very tight game that doesn’t allow you to do much outside of what the devs intended often just has less depth gameplay wise as a result and is less fun to watch as a spectator. smash bros melee out lasted 2 sequels competitive wise because of this. Giving the player more options as opposed to less is always a better move at least that my opinion

@@jonathandavid3393 "Fun to spectate" is a stretch. Otherwise, the footage would be from actual matches. As it is, successful application of such tech is gonna go over the heads of most of the spectators. If jank were fun to watch, it would be easy to put together the greatest attraction of a game. If genji and doomfist and wrecking ball and lucio players get to play the mechanics abuse game on top of the "intended kit," while many other heroes don't, it isn't beautiful to me, sorry. It's lame and miserable. I feel sorry for people who had ever felt the obligation to "learn the tricks," even if those people were more or less fine with it. That must be why the devs are seemingly reluctant to "fix" or fix the prominent jank. There are people who invested into having learnt the tech, to have an edge with skills useless anywhere else. As long as the skill required isn't applicable in other games, the skilled player is stuck with overwatch. Like in gacha games an imbalanced character gets lost to power creep, but never to direct nerf. Too easy to expect people to see it as stealing their investment. Devs might risk it, producers wouldn't ever green light such changes.

I respect that but this is a matter more of taste in games than of bugs or unintended mechanics. The people who learn ball or doomfist or genji or Lucio don’t feel like it’s a chore to learn their intricacies they have more fun playing those types of characters than anyone else that’s why there are way more one tricks of said characters. Lucio and genji and such are like that by design very much intended you can just say you don’t like crazy shmovment in games which I respect I personally find tactical shooters like rainbow 6 and cs go a snore fest and gravitate more toward shooters like tf2 quake and split gate. Some people prefer vanilla ice cream made of high quality ingredients and some people like peanut crusted chocolate habanero fried ice cream on a stick lathered in way to much whipped cream and who’s to judge. at this point it’s just a matter of taste, not of objective game design if the game is fun to people even if it’s a fairly niche group of people (cough fighting game community cough) they did their job. Also much love for sharing your thoughts

I'm wondering how consistently can those moves be made (maybe lots of failed attempts were edited out) , and how much can they be used in a dynamic game, not with static bots . For now I fail 90-100% of the time to perform these tricks on a training map with static bots, so it would be a waste of time to do them live. The only things that work most often for me now on live is edge slam (going near an edge so you can slam without high ground) , and pinballing.

I've been practicing these techs for 2 years now so I can hit most techs consistently on bots. In a real match though I only use about a third of these techs anyway as most of them are completely useless, so I highly recommend that you practice on bots before trying them in game.

@@altay_ballotp I see. So I'm noticing a pattern. The best ball players have been playing him for a loooong time. I "just'' started playing Overwatch (40 hours on Hammond. As soon as I unlocked him started playing 'only' him, save for the weekly challenges) . And haven't played a PvP shooter in 15 years (and when I did, it was little, since not a fan of PvP) , so it will take me a loong time to git gud :D .

To get increased pile drive height you need to pile drive directly on their hitbox. But honestly it's pretty much impossible to hit it consistently on a moving target so it's a useless tech.

Most of them are. A lot of wall jump tech is especially difficult to pull off on controller though. Same with bhopping and grapple rebounds. A couple of the player jump techs might be impossible on console due to lower framerate. But there’s still plenty you can learn with Hammond.
