A bored kid. And his little sister. And an idea.
The timing was impeccable, because somehow it all came together at the perfect time to make the people living near the intersection of 10th Street and "I" Avenue in Anacortes,Wa. understand that they live in a wonderful place, that everybody has a story, and that none of us are as alone as we may believe.

I think this story is Great! In today's world it is so easy to get caught up in the terrible things going on around us! It is so refreshing to see a story about a little red haired kid yelling at a dog! It reminds me of an old country song " this is where I date myself " I sure could use a little good news today. God bless and stay healthy and happy!

What a cute story. What a great, constructive and creative way these kids created to deal with lockdown/quarantine, and to get to know and help their neighbors. As Mr. Rogers says "Won't you be my neighbor"?

Thanks for this encouraging story, Steve! It’s inspired me to want to raise my kids in such a way that they would do something like this, too. What joy this family brought to their whole neighborhood by listening to and telling these stories each week!

So fantastic to see this story! Now enter the “West Clay Park Snooper” a local ( a half circle unique neighborhood in San Francisco) newspaper witch was born out of a boring Summer Wednesday afternoon in 1953 and remained in circulation until about 1958/59 when the boys and girls on the staff began to take a more adolescent and less child like interest in each other. The story of the Snooper as a wonderful community bonding enterprise as well a rather robust newspaper entity over it’s six year life is an exact 1950’s mirror image of this paper--of course with mimeographed pages and drawings through stencils and different type sets using a Veritype machine donated by Ansel Adams who was a West Clay Park resident! Dorn Cranert: Editor in Chief Brian Cranert Reporter at large Graig (chipper) Harris advertising Allen Blair Science Editor Richard Lonergan Sports Editor Leslie Abramson Society Columnists John Malloy Reporter Ried McDonald reporter Brian Getz reporter Peter Craveling printing and circulation manager Ollie Cranert and Harold Getz adult associates and editorial advisory staff IE (you kids probably should not report in print who stole Mrs Evans Garden Hose even tho you know who did it)! An uplifting video which brings down an avalanche of fond childhood memories! Thanks so much Snooper Stories are legendary but too many to start reporting here (oops) 😝 my bad -- lol
