Gojo stepping on the ants with his Infinity technique and laughing like a maniac was basically just a way of saying that he can effortlessly crush all the Higher Ups, but he's simply allowing them to live. Cuz he quite literally maintains the balance of the Jujutsu World.

It can be a reference to Aizen in Bleach, saying "It's very difficult for me to step on an ant without crushing it.". Nah, Hamami definitely way stronger than everyone combined in the veil. If he had intention to killing, all but Yuuji might die. In previous ep, if Gojo come just seconds later, Todo could die. It's thanks to Megumi that Hanami holding back to killing Tokyo's students, since they know Sukuna had interest in one of students, but don't know whom. So they don't want to take risked and killed "Sukuna's landmine" and trigger Sukuna wrath to them.

You realize that all the characters, plus the curses, grow stronger together as the series progress. Itadori and Todou really did put Hanami against the wire here, and Hanamj grew alotbstronger once they healed and gained experience from this. Todou is massively stronger than Maki in this part of the show, and she only gets stronger later. Etc.

@@zean2296 The only person Hanaminwas forbidden to kill was Itadori and Megumi. Hanami really wanted to kill todou and the others. It did not have the chance as it severely underestimated Todou.

@@kenbocole1460 huh, at this point, they still don't know Megumi is the one who's Sukuna had 'interest in'. They just know it's one of the students. So, Geto advice to avoid from killing any students, in order to not accidentally killed sukuna's landmine. (And there's also another reason that might be a spoiler) Yuuji and todou just put him in the edge that Hanami became seriously fighting. Hence his conversation with Mahito after.

@@zean2296 watch the episode with the Baseball match again, Mahito literally mentioned Megumi by name to Hanami and told them not to kill him specifically. Also Todou didn't seem very scared. He most likely would be able to dodge the attack with his ability, as even Hanami thought they needed their domain expansion to have a chance hitting him.
