Yeah, I love Season 8. I think seasons 5-7 are a bit...yikes... Season 4 is really when things dropped but there were still gems. Season 8 kinda brought things back and matured Spongebob.

I feel like Drive Thru is a call back to when Patrick got his license and a boat. For the longest time, I've been wondering when they will make an episode of the Krusty Krab where they finally have a drive thru like in fast food restaurants in real life. I'm glad they did that and the episode was great. Though Mr. Krabs finds a way to screw it up cuz he's too cheep to install a real drive thru mirror.

The drive-thru episode is so relatable to actual restaurant drive-thrus. Like, we all go to that one drive thru at McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, etc, and we sometimes assume that the employees of those restaurants are busier than ever. At least McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s actually put effort into their drive-thrus, and don’t care too much about spending money.

For some reason, I always associate Season 8 as the chill season of the dark era. Idk why, it’s always come off to me like that. There’s not many truly bad episodes, but there’s not many spectacular regular episodes. A lot of it I’d describe as just…alright, ok, or meh, with a few standouts

You guys are right. Cartoony is a good way to also describe the movement of the characters in future seasons. “Accidents Will Happen.” Squidward may be in the wrong here, but Krabs has still had this coming for a little while. Also, to be fair, that shelf is still pretty hazardous, I’d sue for that alone. Starting Season 8 strong with “The Other Patty.” Reference to a past episode (and a damn good one), a good bond between the two archenemies, and some nice jokes too! “That shit ain’t canon.” I personally believe any episode outside of the first 4 seasons and the aforementioned “Friend or Foe” is set in its own separate reality. Also, episodes like “SB-129” and “Back to the Past” have likely messed with the space time continuity. “Drive Thru” shows us all that Mr. Krabs treasures one thing more than money: his sledgehammer. Remember the Strangler? And Reg from the Salty Spittoon? Voiced by Thomas F Wilson. Anyway, he returns once more to voice Tony Fast Sr. in “Hot Shot.” As for Tony Jr? He’s pretty cool. Nice start to season 8. Thankfully there’s not as many blemishes in this season as there was in the 7th, so we’re off a LITTLE easier than last time. Thanks for keeping this fun and bearable guys!

Accidents Will Happen and The Other Patty start the season off pretty well, I love this line at 15:04 but while Drive-Thru has a few good parts, its stupidity really drags it down, especially the cop saying that they turned Bikini Bottom into a parking lot and he also says that they don't want the mayor to find out about this yet he arrives right after the cop, what loads of bs! The Hot Shot, really good idea, subpar execution.

First of all, I'm pretty sure "Yeti Krabs" is copyrighted in 2013. Second, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water takes places between "SpongeBob You're Fired" and "Lost in Bikini Bottom" in production order and international release dates order. Third, all of the season 9 episodes up to "SpongeBob You're Fired" had fully finished premiering in Greece by July 3, 2013. We use the international airdates/whatever countries got the episodes first to show the true order between the episodes and the movies since some countries will air or just release whatever episodes are fully completed up to that point, regardless on what their status is in the United States. This is just like how all of the season 12 had fully finished premering/being released in Israel by July 1, 2020, ONE MONTH before The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run made it's first ever full movie public release on August 13, 2020 in the Czech Republic. That was also TWO MONTHS before season 13 made its first ever broadcast on October 22, 2020 with the episodes "A Place for Pets" and "Lockdown for Love" in the United States. So YES, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run takes place between "Dream Hoppers" and "A Place for Pets" in both production order and international release dates order.

Krabs had a ton of good ideas to get more money, but sadly his cheapskate behavior always backfires at him making him lose much more. It's unbelievable at this point he actually decided to build Krusty Krab 2(I like to think he destroyed it not to pay for its maintenance and the movie happened between season 3 and 4)
