I had long relationships when I was younger, but since I got my two babies I just decided I don't want a man anymore, been single since the age of 40! I loved,loved,loved beeing a mum,travelled so much with my children, did so much with them,had no whatsoever feelings or needs to be with a man again! Now at almost 60 I am the happiest by myself and with my divorced friends! We travel and go out and speak on the phone almost daily; and still no need for a man! I am much happier by myself! And my friends feel the same way, some of them have short relations with men they meet but allways end up enjoying life more by themselves, without a man!

@@sandiego2380 Mayne you are right, but the main thing is that I ended up happier than I had been with a "partner" if that's what you prefer to call it, to me a partner sounds like it could be a man OR a woman, that's why I choose to say a man! I have married friends who have said to me that they envy me, because I have allways been able to do what I want and when I want; book a last minute trip to Greece for example, leaving in two days, wich they could only dream of since they'd have to make sure it's okay with their hubby, wich it wouldn't be, and their hubby would not be able to come along just like that,even if it was their holiday and no work for a few weeks.So many things you can do when it's just you and a child, or later in life when it's just you and maybe a friend! I love to do things spontanic, depending on the weather, my mood, money-situation, and I could not be bound to a summerhouse like so many couples are; never travel,just be four weeks, on every holiday at the summer-house, same house, same place year after year. I am not built for that! People are different.

@@sandiego2380 I bet YOU are the wife or the husband that spends every holiday in the same way; never making something new, never travelling to a new place, never going away with friends on a short notice, allways serving your spouce...and because of that it scares you to think of a woman living alone doing whatever she feels for whenever she has the opportunity! Right now I am planning to change apartment and I don't have to negotiate with a partner, I am free to make the choises and decision by myself!
