Thank you for pointing out what’s glaringly obvious. As a local, I find the city irresponsibly urbanized-dominated by gray, soulless skyscrapers with zero regard for sustainability or aesthetics. It's ranked 76th dirtiest capital for air quality, and yet, trees are still being cut down and new buildings are on the way... And for those claiming exaggeration or misinformation-what else would you expect when the president’s out here every other day preaching about how we’re supposedly “better” than any other country? Of course people believe it; propaganda’s a hell of a drug.

I have been living abroad for 5.5 years and since the beginning I always looked forward to go back to Ankara. I never felt literally insecure in Ankara during my time. Arguably best universities in the country with a large university student population, highest average education level with a clear margin above all other cities in the country so on so forth. Never been to the places shown in the video myself. Sorry but this video felt like a deliberate defaming attempt, don't know what could be the reason.

@@unseen_hues Hello dear Cori, whether it is America or Italy or the most developed countries in the world, if you go to the troublesome neighborhoods you will see trouble. This is valid everywhere in the world. If you walk around the beautiful neighborhoods of Ankara, you will think that Ankara is very safe. Likewise, I find your title exaggerated and misleading.

@@unseen_hues As far as I watched the video, Ankara is the first settlement of the nation Ankara. If we look at why it looks so poor and neglected, first of all, we need to know the history of Turkey. As you know, the Republic of Turkey was founded on poverty thanks to a great man like Ataturk. I can briefly say this. The wealth of Europe is the result of the exploitation of the slavery of the Native Americans and Africans. You are walking around the oldest neighborhood of a country founded from 0. If we had the chance to talk, I would like to explain more. Have a nice day.

Ankara is a big city but you say this is Ankara by filming its most slum areas and feeling unsafe at times. These are the oldest areas of the city, what do you expect, new buildings? If you saw the city by going up to Atakule, you would understand that you only visited a small area. Ankara is a safe city. You should visit the mainland again.

@@47rapflex You should also look at the other comments. Every part of the video is wrong, he said he came in winter and the weather was cloudy, if it snowed he would probably say it snowed in winter. He said that gun sales are allowed in front of the store selling shotguns, guns cannot be sold to anyone without a license in this country, special permits are required, you should not get involved in crime. There are many immigrants due to the wars in the surrounding area, even immigrants from Ukraine and Russia, considering all this it is a very safe city. The video can only be watched as a mockery from beginning to end.

Ankara is the new capital of Republic. Istanbul used to be the old capital of the empire. Ankara wasn't chosen as capital because of its beauty or structure, it was chosen because it's pretty far inland and if anyone was going to invade the country they would have to go through a lot of home ground before being able to reach it. It was solely a strategic choice. And over the years very little has been done to make it prettier, or worth going there apart from for government business. That's why those Turkish people told you to not bother going there. Also, since you are a tourist, the people in the 'dangerous' neighbourhoods won't cause trouble for you. Most of the dangerous neighbourhoods in Turkey are actually pretty safe, it just depends what kind of intentions you go there with. People there, if they sense that you are there to humiliate them, or make fun of them, can become aggressive, but if you just go there and speak to a few people they will have no problem showing you around their neighbourhood and make sure you are safe if they know English. Often times outsiders (people not from that hood) go into these neighbourhoods for the wrong reasons and that's when bad things happen. If you already know how to behave yourself in rough neighbourhoods since you lived in Latin America for a while, you shouldn't have any problems. Most of them don't want trouble inside their own neighbourhoods because that brings more police attention to the area.

As someone who has lived in Ankara before, I can tell you that 80% of the city is very beautiful, modern and green, while you only show 20% of the city and try to denigrate the city. most cities in the world have good parts and bad parts, if Ankara was a city with a high proportion of bad parts, I would agree with you, but you are defaming in this video. when you look at other youtube videos promoting Ankara, what you have done is revealed, you did not even turn on the camera in beautiful areas.

I agree with the most people saying Ankara is not tourist friendly city but I don’t think this video shows the Ankara fairly either. As you may agree when you go to the New York, you don’t visit only suburbs - like some areas of Queens, Brooklyn etc. but also visit upperclass neighborhoods (Manhattan) and Museums. However, I don’t see such areas in this video taken for Ankara. Maybe your tour guide or friends doesn’t know the best locations in here but if you visit Ankara again, please let me know so, I can recommend better places to visit for tourists. Cheers

Unfair... I have lived half of my life in this city. Having traveled to over 100 countries and hundreds of cities around the world, I can confidently say that Ankara is one of the most exciting cities I have ever experienced. However, I find this portrayal of Ankara to be both biased and intentional. It deliberately excludes the city's beautiful and vibrant areas, focusing solely on neighborhoods predominantly inhabited by undocumented migrants. These are places heavily populated and unfortunately transformed by hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern residents. A similar video could be made in any city around the world-every city has its dark and neglected corners, whether it's New York, London, Amsterdam, or Athens etc etc. Do you also film such underprivileged neighborhoods in other cities? If the answer is yes, then fair enough, carry on. But if the answer is no, what you’re doing is deeply unfair. Shame on you. Really interesting approach,🤔 I left watching after you saying '' guns actually legal, or pretty easy to acquire in Türkiye (not Turkey)'' Event doesn't know right name of country you visit, trying the to spread around bullshit without to having knowledge about law, crime statistic, how many tourists faced violence in that city etc your words and ridicules propaganda and worth nothing. This country host approximately 60 million tourists and Türkiye one of the best and safest country comparing the others. Believe me you are not so special, as you show in your video even stray dogs not interested and paid attention to you. Off course there are good areas and bad areas and things in everywhere every country, off course you can show them, but try to be honest and not manipulate
