If you pay attention to the lyrics, the theme is pretty apocalyptic and afraid of nuclear war. The bridge and one of the choruses go There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do, I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world And as J.O.A.T says, it points its criticism to everybody wanting power without considering (or just blatanly ignoring) the costs or the misery that it brings.

I was born in 91 and my parents used to listen to this music around the house all the time, then they divorced when I was around 7 years old and turned out to be a pretty depressive kid, bullied at school and stuff, one of the saddest stages of my life was when I was remembering my toddler years with this music, I used to cry while listen music like this, Duran Duran , Genesis, Talk Talk and just shit that brought me back to that era, these days I cannot even get the edge or remember what I used to like about this song but It kinda came back listening to this cover, when listening to this band in particular I mostly listen to other songs and avoid this one cause I just don't find what was good about it but this cover kinda reminded me what it was to listen to this 17 years ago....
