X-ray tech here. Link, the reason we quickly "run behind the thing" is because once we get you in the correct position we want to take the exposure as soon as possible before you move. If it hasn't been answered 800 times already: the reason blowing is cold and breathing is hot is the same standing still feels hotter than running. The air surrounding your skin is constantly pulling heat from your skin trying to reach an equilibrium. The bigger the temperature difference, the faster it moves towards that equilibrium. By breathing, you're moving air slowly so the same air is constantly touching your skin. By blowing, you're making sure that fresh air is in contact with your skin, so it's pulling heat faster than the air slowly moving past (that has had more time to pull heat). I'm sure there's other more specific things you can get in to, but I'm not a physicist. Also, ELI5: data is stored in tiny transistors. If it has a charge, it's a 1. If it doesn't, it's a 0.

I know that there is a logical explanation for this stuff, but I think it makes more sense if we just live in a simulation and the reason it works this way is because that’s how it’s programmed to work

My question is in winter you breathe outside and you cab see your breath but if you fart, no steam. Why?
@undersizedajj2 жыл бұрын
I don't know, but I think the hot breath cold blow thing could be a combination of things. Breath is hotter than outside air because of your body heat of course, but it might feel cold when you blow because it causes more evaporation (even if you're not noticeably sweaty), and I imagine it probably disturbs the warmer air from right around your body. My best guess!
