Conventional English used SHALL with first persons, and WILL with second and third persons [Ordinary future]. If WILL follows first persons, and SHALL second and third persons, it was called coloured future. These days, however, the use of SHALL is disappearing. Schools have also started sticking only to WILL for both. SHALL has been plutoed.

Both the sentences mean different things. In the first sentence, the speaker thinks that he should have done the action, whereas, in the second one, it is obvious that someone else expects the speaker to have done the action.
