Please check and review this sentence: "I am having a headache." It is acceptable because 'have' also means 'experience', 'undergo', etc. in which case the progressive form is correct. There are many examples such as "We're having a wonderful time here in Venice.', "I was having difficulty in keeping awake." and "The baby is having her nap." (Cambridge dictionary)
@EverydayEnglishwithSonia
@EverydayEnglishwithSonia Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your feedback! According to the Oxford dictionary, when referring to an illness, we can use ‘have’ or ‘have got’, but it is specifically mentioned that ‘have’ is NOT used in the progressive tenses when talking about illnesses. However, when referring to experiences (difficulty/problems), meals, planned events, other leisure activities etc., we can indeed use ‘have’ in the continuous/progressive form. And this is what the Cambridge Dictionary says about using ‘have’ in the progressive form: We can use the continuous form to talk about an ACTIVITY that is happening: She’s having a bath right now. She’ll call you back. We use the continuous form to talk about an activity that is planned for a future time: I’m having lunch with Miriam on Wednesday. We use the continuous form of 'have' when the event or action is ongoing or repeated: He’s having trouble with his car. Hope this helps! 😊

Misse missinte number tharamo??? Allengil ഇതൊന്ന് paranju tharumo..... Two friends എന്ന short story യിലെ Sentences ആണ്. Besieged Paris was in the throes of famine .Even the Sparrows on the roofs and the rats in the sewer were growing scarce ....
