Blake, Thank You! This is the BEST video I have seen explaining the use of the radial filter to produce the perfect vignette.

I like a good vignetter and already knew not to overcook them, but I was only using effects, so it's fair to say that watching this was one of those 'game-changer moments' for me, thanks!

Excellent video. Would love to see you updated this video using the new masks in LR Classic. The luminance masks in particular acked differently. I am having trouble getting them to acked the way I want.

Preset made! love the control I have with this over the normal effects panel. Now I can just tweak as needed with every image and it's such a better vignette overall. Superb, Thank you.

Holy shite, this is going to sound precocious, but it's rare that I actually learn more about how to edit my photos better in Lightroom. This was very, very good. Thank you and well done!

My sincere pleasure! Subscribe, I've got a lot more coming, not to sound precocious either 😁

Thank you. I like the way you edit in a subtle way and not with a heavy hand . Yes I "piggy backed" to your other video.

Thanks Blake, I could not find the ability to change the mask overlay color as you showed in LR 10.1.1 but did find that I could change the overlay color by pressing Shift+O repeatedly and it cycles through red, green, pink and grey

Interesting! I don't use Lightroom, so I was not aware of that.

Great video as always Blake, as a creator myself I understand the amount of work that goes into these and I appreciate you making these tutorials available to everyone. My only suggestion is in regards to audio; have you considered a shock mount for your microphone? It sounds like it's sitting on your desk by the way keyboard strokes conduct into the mic. It gets my subwoofer all excited, haha. Again, thank you for everything!
@f64Academy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I do have it on my desk. I don't have a great setup for a shock mount. I'm replacing my desk in a few weeks and at that time I'll try the shock mount again.

A while back you talked about some viewers complaining that you talked too fast. Well, you articulate great and that covers the issue, IMO.

I am from the South USA, and when I first heard Blake I thought it was to fast. After time I got comfortable with his pace. It is only occasionally that I have to pause and backtrack on his videos.

Enjoyed the tip, but I cannot find where in Lightroom to change the Overlay color. There is not a menu pick for Mask Options like in Camera Raw. Can you steer me to the location to adjust this in Lightroom? Thanks
@f64Academy3 жыл бұрын
Only ACR apparently.
@davidmarcovitz54503 жыл бұрын
@@f64Academy Thanks, I just googled some info on how to change mask colors in Lightroom and got this "First, make sure that you have a mask created and visible in your image (use the keyboard shortcut O to view the mask). Then, hold the SHIFT key and press the O key to cycle through the colors (red, green, white, and black)." To bad they do not have magenta, but I am sure one of the 4 colors they have will work. I guess the default is red since that is what mine has been.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I have a question. I start in ACR then go to PS, if I didn't click "open as object" so I can bring it back to ACR but use the filter ACR to get it back into ACR is the quality the same. Like bits eat... Thank you.
@f64Academy3 жыл бұрын
Not really. I have a video on my channel about this. It's called ACR as. Filter vs ACR. It covers all the questions you might have.

Do mask colour options exist within lightroom classic? I could never find an option to set a custom colour. Only to be able to cycle through preset colours of green, red, white...

Not sure, I only use ACR
@studio25135 ай бұрын
nice tut, but but this morbid magenta mask color..
@f64Academy5 ай бұрын
It's awful isn't it? But its the absolute BEST way to visualize a mask. After working in PS for 20-+ years its the only color I'll use to visualize a mask. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to get the job done. Open your mind to it ;)

Great video Blake as always. However I have to pick you up on one point. No one uses the term "Vignette" anymore. Its actually quite dated and offensive. The correct term is "Anular no uniform suppression" usually expressed as the acronym A.N.U.S You can now refer to the technique as "adding an anus" to your photo. 😁 Cheers Rich
@f64Academy3 жыл бұрын
Haha! Oh boy, I almost believed that... So if you use it in a way that the viewer doesn't know, it's a Subliminal A.N.U.S? That's the worst kind of anus!
@richardsmith5333 жыл бұрын
@@f64Academy absolutely correct. In fact a subliminal ANUS placed around a large subject could definitely bring tears to your eyes.!
