We changed this filter for years without a problem. Now it's a battle to get the cap back on and the filter out without a cap on the filter that came off during the struggle to get the filter back in the fridge. Nothing's easy.

I can't remove the old filter. The cartridge cap broke and the filter is stuck inside.

I empty the ice tray of the old batch, clean the tray with soap and water, reinstall the tray and let the icemaker make a new batch of ice... then discard that first batch made through the new filter and then use the new ice from then on.

I did it many times but this time I failed and broke the cab. Now the filter is stuck neither fully inserted nor getting ejected 😢 It’s been more than 10years using this but never get used to doing this. Very stressful. I live in South Korea ….

I replaced the filter in my Whirlpool fridge but have low flow on the water. I have taken out the filter, inspected it, put it back in but still low flow water. It sounds like the freezer is trying to make ice but after the ice drops the flush of water is very weak. How do I fix the low water flow?

Search KZbin for issues like this. I'm sure fixes are out there. I repaired my old fridge and gas dryer thanks to the online YT vids. Saved a lot of money.

Home Depot carries it for about $50 ($47 here). Though you may be able to find it cheaper and possibly in dual or quad packaging online. The appliances clerk at Home Depot told me it's the only filter they carry which doesn't have a generic replacement available. Hence the high price.

You have to follow the instructions and flush the filter out proper before drinking the water...
