Greetings from Australia, I’ve just ordered the V6 turbo diesel ranger wild track, it drives very nice, quiet, comfortable, long wait to be delivered though. I just wish the Ram, F150, Silverado and GMC etc were cheaper in Australia, listed well over $100 grand plus, the mid size ranger is pretty much all I can afford and even that set me back $80 grand. I would have preferred a full size pick up. Pick ups in Australia are everywhere, it’s the right hand drive that screws us over on price and imports. A left hand drive goes through a complete rebuild after the factory build in the states before hitting our roads.

It is interesting that Australia is becoming Fords high tech design and development centre. As well as three diesel options you also get the 2 7 Turbo 400hp Ranger Raptor All variations of the Ranger Globally are designed and developed in Australia including rhe US version.

Hopefully Ford uses their 2.7 eco petrol motor in the US. As the diesels will not be used. That is a given. But Ford better use their 2.7 eco since GM will be using their 2.7 that will output to 430 lbs of torque which is like 580 newton meters in your terms. Fords's 2.3 eco can't compete with that. Not even remotely so. LIstening Ford? And I don't want that motor just for a 70K USD Ranger raptor either. Better be an option for a XLT i'm or shopping at GM.

Ranger overall. Colorado feels small inside compared to the Ranger. Ranger wins in most specs overall

@@danc4454 Looks like the 2024 Ranger is copying some of the 2023 Colorado to keep up. The 2023 Colorado blows the 2023 Ranger away.

@@robertryan7204 What aspects of it do you think are gonna be watered down (besides the decreased Payload capacity and limited engine options) I’m considering getting this truck and I really wouldn’t be happy if they changed the standard 10 inch infotainment (found in international XL and XLT models) to something smaller.

You will get less engine choice for starters. Payload and towing not as great, especially payload, in the heavy duty versions. Fuel economy would be less than the diesels. Trim levels would be more basic in the US versions. Remember the Ranger competes with the F150 in some aspects

Ford saved by the Ford Bronco 2022 Calendar Year but never pushed out Maverick sales to compete with Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima if that's even made anymore and is now suffering from a far better put together Hyundai Santa Cruz. Anyhow Tesla remains the only game in town for new vehicle launches 2023 with not even best be described as *"weak offerings"* from incumbent Das Auto as Rivan, Lucid, Canoo and who knows who else now start to try and hang with the Tesla Juggernaut. Volkswagen is going to have a truly awesome task ahead standing up their massive pure BEV Facility in Tennessee something Ford at least can claim a big win in that Battle Royale. General Motors has only been saved from the truly worst possible outcome because of World War 3 Russia versus the World and I imagine Jeep Chrysler Dodge Brothers for the same reason. Pricing is still wildly out of control given the massive US Housing market deflation now well underway.

I don't understand why everyone wants the 4 door with measly 5ft bed. I guess they use these for family cars and not so much as an actual pickup. too bad they're eliminating the 6ft bed next year... right when I want to buy. shame
