agreed, though for the sake of any oddball who's inspired to sing after jim's performance: his vibrato is what my old voice prof would call 'church-lady vibrato' in that it comes from the top of the throat/mouth and will cause damage over time (i think that's only if it's done often, but that class was like 8 years ago so i'm not 100% sure)

The intro lines to Sweet Caroline are supposed to be bright and effortless because after that you are going to start belting it out at the chorus. Jimmy's throat was tight and his tone rather flat with very little chest, and it's a good bet that he would have cracked trying to hit the higher notes. And it's just my opinion, his voice is ok but Sweet Caroline is too ambitious for him. Still it's hard to judge his full singing ability on so little evidence.
