Interesting how they all refer to the New Era's Onaga in terms relative to an animal than a sapient entity, speaking of taming him, referring to him simply as a monster. Could be another facet of Liu Kang's rewrite is leaving Onaga's mind to the whims of a primal dragon than a deceiver.

We know it happened over 10 thousand years ago. Mileena's only heard stories. I think it's all myth because the reality is Onaga is also a Titan, or Titan-level. Maybe Liu Kang had to seal away the still very much sentient, ungodly powerful Onaga we remember. Maybe trying to stop Onaga from existing at all began to drive Liu Kang mad, causing him to give up his power. It would serve to explain a few things; Shao's hatred toward him being so personal (I think Liu Kang killed Shao's father,) Sindel speaking of his "interventions," and most importantly, *Quai Liang.* Quai Liang almost stopped the prophecy single handedly. If he actually killed any of them, even Bi-Han, Onaga'd likely be a non-factor. Shujinko has also been terminated as a threat. Which means the Elder God's champion wouldn't need to stop him, only stop Onaga. "It was in fact Scorpion who was the true Champion of the Elder Gods, the Enforcer of their will. Only he could stop the menace that threatened all that exists. Only he could defeat The Dragon King."

The Elder Gods compared Onaga to The One Being(if I have to assume that's one of the Titans before the titan concept or Kronika was a thing in MK11) which was really scary. And since Shujinko was in MK1, I can assume he would be the new chosen one to defeat (Titan) Onaga in the future mk games.

We don't have any of that info, not yet. These dialogues are naturally going to have red herrings thrown in there. Onaga's not tamable. Onaga's not a mindless beast. He is more powerful than Shao Khan and Shang Tsung combined in terms of magic. Reiko is going to either be sacrificed, used as a vessel, or Shao really doesn't understand what he's doing.

Onaga with Kronika’s abilities as keeper of time would make him stronger than he already is. Shao Khan in previous timelines had to poison him in order to become Khan and this new timeline Shao’s ancestors had to lock him away somehow, though I don’t know if Liu Kang helped them or not I don’t know. In the next game or maybe a DLC storyline Onaga may most likely become the main antagonist alongside or after (spoiler alert)

Mortal Kombat universe logic works in a way that every og character HAS to exist in some capacity regardless of the universe/timeline/etc. The only people Liu Kang CAN delete forever is seemingly other Time-keeping Titans, but even Kronika might not stay dead forever and the scenario where that happened was unique.

The true answer is Liu Kang can remove people, but not primordials. The only way for Onaga to be a threat is for him to be a titan. I would say the Titan of Death. Him sealed in outworld would explain their slow aging, it would explain the fog surrounding the past especially Shao's family. A Titan is a fundemental aspect of reality. So to remove Onaga, assuming (rightfully so) that he will be retconned into a Titan, removing him is literally removing death from the equation. It is heavily implied Liu Kang began to suffer The Hourglass' madness as well. He did his best, we have the strongest Scorpion of all time, the weakest Bi-Han, Human Smoke. And because Shujinko is no longer a threat, meaning it's quite possible, and I hope- that Kuai Liang fulfils Scorpion's role as the True Champion of the Elder Gods. Kuai Liang's chapter, if thoroughly analyzed, shows that he almost single handedly stopped *everything.* If not for Tomas outside, everyone in that temple would be dead. And he went for the Bi-Han kill btw. It's a literal blink and you'll miss it moment. When he knocks down Shang Tsung and Bi-Han, staggering Shao (all done in one singular hit btw bitchass Bi-Han.) Kuai Liang was like an inch from bashing in his brother's brains.

So I've stated this a lot, but I'm going to again. I think there *was* an MK12. I think it was the trailer. We don't hear Liu Kang like that in this game. Never so sinister. But hear over and over how the Hourglass drives one mad. Erasing Onaga from existence is probably on the top priorities. But what if Onaga *is also* a Titan? (I would say the TItan of Death. It would explain Outworlder's lifespans too.) Maybe Onaga's too powerful to stop from forming. An unchangable fact, like seemingly Scorpion and Sub-Zero's clash and Kenshi's blindness. I firmly believe Onaga could take out Titan Liu Kang. Maybe struggle a bit, but Onaga could do it. So perhaps Liu Kang went a bit mad himself, *sealed away Onaga,* and in such an extreme show of force, *terrified* Outworld, and also killed Shao's father. Onaga is not the Kaiju Reiko thinks and he is *not* tamable. I also think it may be Quai Liang to take him down. We see Quai Liang almost single handedly stopping Onaga's prophecy when Bi-Han pulls his bs. That *tear* he went on would be noticed by the Elder Gods. We say it's Raiden who's the chosen one. But these words have lived in my head rent free since I was a child: "It was in fact Scorpion who was the true Champion of the Elder Gods, the Enforcer of their will. Edit: Answering this question before it's asked -How is Onaga more powerful than the creator of everything? Liu Kang is a mortal given Demi-God *and* Titan power. He is *not a true Titan.* Onaga also literally walked through Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, and Raiden all giving him their full power. Quan Chi recognized Onaga then. You can actually hear one of the very few *real words* in Deception's opening from Quan Chi. "No, this cannot be..." This was an Onaga who had just taken over a host body, lacked Shinnok's Amulet (WHERE DID THE AMULET GO?) and hadn't had any "practice" in who knows how long. The Onaga we beat in Deception is not even close to Onaga at full power. -Blanket answer for every question these openings give: There's going to be red herrings in these dialogues naturally. Just to build the hype and get us talking about Onaga. For them to give Onaga hard confirmation in Reiko's ending, an unreliable narrator, means they *want* this speculation.

I'm convinced all the talk of Onaga in this game is just a red herring. They've been "teasing" a return of Onaga since the MKX comics and it never went anywhere. Either NRS are gonna dupe everyone again and make another character be the big bad or they will bring Onaga back briefly but then pull a Dark Raiden as somebody else comes in and he gets forgotten about. Just my two cents on it.

People need to realize that 1. Sometimes a reference is just a reference and you shouldn't take it too seriously and 2. If all the endings are canon and will be worked into mk2 then there's a lot more they can use for a story instead of onaga, like it or not 😂

@@Axel_Kasai Exactly. NRS aren't gonna make the simple choice and bring Onaga back regardless of how much fans want him back. They don't care enough to do it, they just wanna use him to hype up fans for whatever they've got planned next. "Hey guys look we're teasing this villain nobody has seen in years and we'll totally bring him back guys just be excited for our next product which will totally feature him and don't ask questions." I'd be genuinely surprised if we see Onaga either in a DLC or the next game, even more so if he is the main antagonist.

Because Onaga's more powerful than Raiden, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi combined. Onaga is *far* above Titan level. And that's only using Reptile's body as a host. And lacking Shinnok's Amulet. And only having just been revived after millennia. We have literally never seen a truly revived Onaga.
