Tbf, it does take skill to push an unstable car. While some have managed to do it, you can't expect that from even most of the grid. It is the constructor's job to give the car a room for the driver to push. Be it downforce for turning or resilient engines for overtaking charges.

Two things made me a Grosjean supporter: - a race in Valencia in wich he was catching up to Vettel, but car broke for alternator(?) issues; - a defense against Hamilton at the end of a DRS straight, he pulled to the inside on the last moment forcing Ham to take the outside and decelerate to not do the corner on the gravel. Got mad that day at Spa because it was incredibly stupid from his part and ended up not breaking Vettel's cycle, but never doubted of what he was capable of.

Kimi brought the victories, and most of the podiums and points to the team. He was the one who developed the car. After Kimi left the team and went back to Ferrari for 2014 season, Grosjeans best finishesh was 8th in Spain and Monaco. In two races he made it to the top 10(in 2014). 2015 he took his one and last 3rd place finish for Lotus. .. This is like making a video how awesome Bottas was, taking victories and top10 all time in points, while it was Hamilton who brought the titles.

So you pick Kubica when there were six current world champions on the grid that season(plus Nico Rosberg, a future champion, and the likes of Daniel Ricciardo, Mark Webber, Sergio Perez etc).. Not saying Kubica was bad, he was super talent(kind of wasted talent), but there so much talent on the grid that season(like seven different race winners)..

Yes grosjean was a beast managing to score half the points kimi had, on one of the fastest/best cars of the entire grid finishing p8 in the championship. Absolutely crazy performance. Almost as good as massa's performance having 40% of alonsos points in 2012

That's what i'm saying, Kimi destroyed Grosjean all the way through. From mid 2012 (Kimi was a bit rusty at the beginning of that season and didn't liked the power steering) to mid 2013, Kimi wiped the floor with Romain both in qualifying and race craft.

No. We didn't forget. We just know about F1. Yes, Romain was very quick, but it was Charles Leclerc quick. Fast but fast because pushing too hard. He crashed out, a lot. He managed to mostly work that out of his skillset, but he was never as quick again because of it. Am a fan of Grosjean, he's a bloody nice bloke and on his day a terrific race car driver. Hope he does really well in Indy.
@dansmith6909
@dansmith6909 Жыл бұрын
@F1gilles Yes he does. You're right, he is naturally fast, as fast as anyone in F1 on his day. He does crash out quite often though compared to his peers (HAM/VER), trying too hard to get wins out of a car that can't win. He seems to take not winning as a personal failure even when it is not his fault. I urge you to think back to the times he did crash, and then called himself names on team radio

Even thou Romain was prone to crashes, he was still decently fast and competitive driver when F1 was at its most competitive we've seen in recent times between 2012-2013, especially when you consider the array of drivers he was competing against between those two seasons. Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen, Webber, Massa, Button, Lewis, Rosberg, and Schumacher. Shame he was unable to win one race, but he was close in some races. If only Lotus didn't put a $50000 per point in Kimi's contract nearly bankrupting the whole team because of Kimi's success, the team could have had such potential in V6.
