@F1gilles Yes he does. You're right, he is naturally fast, as fast as anyone in F1 on his day. He does crash out quite often though compared to his peers (HAM/VER), trying too hard to get wins out of a car that can't win. He seems to take not winning as a personal failure even when it is not his fault. I urge you to think back to the times he did crash, and then called himself names on team radio

@@dansmith6909 Mate, Leclerc isn't more error prone than others driver and the fact that he is pushing isn't the reason he crashes! You actually don't know what make a driver quick, i suggest you watch Peter Windsor videos.

@@quentinhirschfeld9382 It's true that LeCrash has improved since his Sauber days, it's just that when he does make a mistake, it's high profile. He wasn't totally (just mostly) blameless in his retirement in the aussie GP today. How long have you watched F1 mate? 2023 marks my 36th season. Only ever missed a race when i've been in a race (albeit at an amateur level) myself.

Even thou Romain was prone to crashes, he was still decently fast and competitive driver when F1 was at its most competitive we've seen in recent times between 2012-2013, especially when you consider the array of drivers he was competing against between those two seasons. Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen, Webber, Massa, Button, Lewis, Rosberg, and Schumacher. Shame he was unable to win one race, but he was close in some races. If only Lotus didn't put a $50000 per point in Kimi's contract nearly bankrupting the whole team because of Kimi's success, the team could have had such potential in V6.

2012 and 2013 Lotus were heavy underutilized. They had the potential to be the champions.

No they didn't, the car was slow in qualifying and even though it had a sharp front end it wasn't easy to keep the car in the right operating window.
