This video I overview the Leg Drag control, often people think of the leg drag as just a guard pass, but its actually an extremely powerful control that can branch into so many other positions ( Back Takes, Crab Rides, Passes, Berimbolo ) Once you master this system its so easy to find it from everywhere and makes finishing the match super easy.

Nice, I already implemented the first pass from watching Keenan years ago. Now I have some other options. A few of the young guys really like the Supine guard but I like smashing through it.

man jiu jitsu has changed so much since I started! Really cool concept and I can see how implementing elements of this can work well for me! As a bigger guy in jiu jitsu there's not much "new" stuff that we can actually pull off.

Thanks for the great video Jon! I just started incorporating crab ride in my game and this video is a great addition for that. I especially like how you go from the leg drag to the crab ride without giving your opponent the chance to pull in your leg between theirs and threaten leg locks. Well done as always!

Jon this looks great and I can’t wait to try it! My only feedback is that it would be great if you could narrate these rolls at the end and slow them down. As a beginner it’s hard to watch what you’re doing, while reading the annotations and remembering the concepts you taught in the beginning of the video.

Love this ! I’m a rookie have no idea what I’m doing but I seem to stack people a lot and side dance with them to get side guard. What I can never get to is the back. Will watch this on repeat prolly to get it but thank you for posting this….. ps I subscribed off this video 👊

Jon, I think I'm a similar build to you and these techniques would work well for me. I'm about to close in on 5 years of training, this looks like a good style and movement for myself. Maybe I'll be good enough to implement these after another year or so.

Starting from the standing leg drag position I'm having trouble weaving my bottom leg around their far long. I'm sure my positioning is off.

How realistic are these types of back-takes without the Gi grips? Even the Miyao brothers Bolo into Leg-Drag and Body-Lock passes in Nogi, because connecting to the back is much less reliable, correct?

Actually a lot of aspects do, but also you can use the leg drag to set up the 411 position as well if you know that. I should have mentioned that as well. When they defend leg drag pushing you can throw your leg over to a cross ashi position.
