Your one of the few shops that brought up the cutaway and fret wire being inline with each other . That's seldom talked about . Can't say enough about your insight . J

It's something I think about every time...of course, that is because I screwed up my fair share and now it is one of those things I look for. It is a real bummer when I see a guitar that has, obviously, been designed with haste.

Texas Toast Guitars your their man. You have the right mind set . .if Gary my wiring guy was here he'd explode your mind with original caps from the 60s . He's the Jewish reye from the 60s .I think he still has the floppy hat .

I love all those things... having my mind blown, vintage caps and Jewish rye.

Texas Toast Guitars if he has anymore old style metal door stops I'll tell him to make ya. A on off switch made from fender late 60s switches .

That tape trick is f-ing brilliant.

Imagine what cool stuff the old timers came up with that is lost to history? We used to put tape on the templates and that got old. Brain Surgery Kevin made us some over-sized pins but the tape is better because you can take bits of it off and get it just right.

I'm ready when you are. I can't decide if I want to do p-90s or Humbuckers?
@HuxleysGhost6 жыл бұрын
Texas Toast Guitars defiantly going with humbuckers like a Gibson Spirit or a mini hum in a P90 cavity.

I remember the first time Ken Warmoth tasked me with doing something on the pin router in his shop (a control cavity); the router bit grabbed the body and almost jerked it out of my hands, could have easily ruined the body and maimed me (but it didn't). I asked him later why he didn't warn me: "You wouldn't have listened." I like your set up a bit better. ;)

The pin router is a great tool but I agree with you that a little bit of instruction is a good thing
@buttonsplaymusic48965 жыл бұрын
Why is the control cavity curvy like that? Is it just a style preference? or is it for some technical reason?
@TexasToastGuitars5 жыл бұрын
We have a bunch of control cavities we use. As long as the controls fit in there you are good to go

I know right... I can't figure out why Charlize Theron won't return my calls? Mrs. Texas Toast doesn't think that is nearly as funny as I do.

I don’t want a little pin router like Big D, that’s embarrassing and a slave to foreplay. But I don’t need a big thick intimidating pin router like yours. I think I’d be just fine with a slightly bigger than average pin router as I have go to attitude about big voluptuous round projects and a ryobi drill press that spins pretty fast. Lololol

Pin routers are really cool, so are drill presses... not the same but still really cool
