Great work. I remember in an old interview right after James Gunn took on DC studios that he said he finally figured out how to do Superman. I then went and started watching all the animated movies. Superman vs The Elite is the best way I’ve seen to make Superman’s morals and character work in the modern era. I also really liked the man of tomorrow movie. Now Gunn is saying that the movie will be about Clark and Lois' relationship and Clark reconciling both of his heritages. With this focus I hope the focus about his morality that was first talked about isn't as big of a focus as was first described. Because it was one thing when it seemed like the Authority would take the Elites place. But since they are not. I'd rather us get a second movie and them doing Manchester Black properly. The Elites feel like perfect James Gunn characters, their vibe is very much in line with how he writes teams. So it will be interesting if we got to see him make that sort of team in a movie but be the antagonists for once. From the trailer and the sounds of what he's now saying. It sounds more like it will take from All-star Superman. Except it won't be an end of life story. But taking the concept of Clark having to deal with multiple challenges, rather than one single big threat. With Lex being the one who puts those challenges before him in various ways.

Way, way back there’s a leaked image that has metal barrels with the tag “Luthor Corp” on it. And the setting of the leaked image looks like it’s in a military base in the desert, almost like it’s located in the Middle East. Personally I think the plot will be based of Lex Luthor: Man of steel. Nicholas Halt stated that his potrayal is heavily inspired by the run. BTS spoilers, we've seen a superman clone/copy that looks like OG doomsday or ultraman. In that run he made an opponent for superman called Hope. dont think its the whole plot but I think there will be some big comparisons for Lex's plot

Honestly when i recently watched Superman vs The Elite for the first time, i was like "I hope the new movie utilizes some of this." And after hearing the mant updates of a world already inhabited by metahumans, and Superman having different views that the world (and other superhumans) see like as old fashioned made me feel like there's eerie similarities and it got me exited. The color is off still the floating eye looking thing from the first photo and from the trailer when he hugs Lois. Looks like it could be the living sun from All-star. I'm thinking that will be the final gauntlet Lex has put into motion. The big question I have is what is Ultraman doing on this earth and why is he working for Argus? The Justice League has yet to be formed so it would be strange if the Crime Syndicate has already attacked their earth and been brought down.

Probably makes sense. James Gunn has been making movies about the US's political violence in the third world and propping up dictators. Creature Commandos is literally the thing. I can see gun making a movie about a European Nation invading and brutally oppressing a Middle Eastern nation (see: Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon) while everybody blames the Middle East for not dying fast enough. Here is a little theory I came up with as well. . . In the set photos, you can see Superman being arrested, in the trailer, he breaks out of a glass cube (which could have been a red sun generator like injustice almost) and I think before he escapes, Ultraman has been pretending to be Superman with Lex as his puppetmaster. I think it's Ultraman who is hit with the can, as you can see Superman has little differences to his appearance. Supes has barely any eyebrows, and his expression is weird, like he is mutating into Bizarro. idk . . either way . . . I AM AMPED FOR THIS SHIT!!!!! lol

Joe Kelly, the screenwriter for Superman Vs. The Elite adapted his own story (Action Comics #775). Kelly addresses questions of Superman's relevancy. "Superman's too boring, simplistic, too hard to write to make audiences interesting" - these are confessions of the people making them than statements. The comic was an excellent stand against edge, cynism and nihilism. It's why Superman will always stand the test of time, it's his morals, however hard they may be to keep. Gunn said he used comics, movies and animation for his Superman film and the DCU as a whole. That being said there’s no doubt he’s taken from Superman the Elite he’s also taken from All Star Superman, Kingdom Come, Donner/Reeve Superman, Cavill/Snyder, Smallville, Bruce Timm’s DCAU, the animated films..all of it. I hope it turns out great. Better than the suit at the very least

You’ve made an interesting point, which would serve for better marketing than DC has let on. No lie, I wasn’t jubilant about the teaser trailer and I’m struggling to watch Creature Commando, simply I’m not feeling the show yet. Maybe Dr.Phosphorus might pull me through it all, but this theory has got my attention. If it plays out how you are suggesting that Gunn is pulling from a story already, then the multiple characters issues might not be an issue. I wasn’t heavy in comic books but I do like watching the animated series or movies. So I can now see Superman simply standing apart from the main cast, but if we want to be curious, we could in exploring others. But sticking to the landing to all of this will be task. Good luck to Gunn on that and thank you for the theory to ponder.
