Donald's line at 10:29 is so heavy..."We're the decisions we make...". I saw a lot of people before say they didn't care about a lot of the background characters arcs including Donald's, but those people are probably 12 and don't know how to be a mature adult. This show touches a lot on truth of being, and humanity. That line was worth the build up and extra minutes involved with Donald's breakdown and backstory.

I'm not going to spoil anything that might become a plot point later but I just finished the first volume of the ultimate collection that you showed since I decided I can't get enough invincible fast enough. I doubt there's anything that I could spoil since season 1 and volume 1 of the ultimate collection end at exactly the same place. Between the show and the comic through I would say the show is better. There's some stuff in the comic that doesn't happen in the show but there's a lot that happens in the show that you can probably assume happens but is never mentioned in the comic. I think the show is better for it shough since it makes the entire world feel more alive and fleshes out a lot of characters. If you think they are a background character in the show then they're probably shown in the comic and then quickly moved past in the comic at least in the first volume.

Robert Kirkman adaptations and having incredible strong female characters go hand in hand. In TWD show Carol is one of the baddest characters we get and she is never written to be "strong" by just making her act like a man. Debbie and Carol are both deeply feminine and strong BECAUSE of it, not in spite of it.

Nah i think omni mans switch was done super well. That last scene we see of him in s1 ep 8 he looks back on his time on earth and looks at this boy that he raised and loved for years and now hes just beating him to a pulp literally punching his teeth out. So he just flies away, tears in his eyes. He was in space for probably months just looking at the infinite cosmos, probably thinking about those words “you dad.. id still have you” then he starts a new life with a new planet of people and watches them get murdered and you see that scene where hes like “why do i feel this way? Why do i care? How is this better?” And mark tells him “this is how you should have felt on earth. Nah man they did that so perfectly i think it deserves more credit

Season 3 will come out a lot sooner than season 2 did after season 1 for sure. There's no way we're getting it any later than fall of next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get it even sooner than that. Good news is that they've renewed the show through season 5 now, so it seems as though they're pretty confident and that we'll actually get to finish the story. They'll only need to renew it for another 2-3 seasons after that if the creator has his way. This is easily one of the best ongoing series at the moment, without question, and this is coming from somebody who doesn't like most of what studios have done with superhero movies and shows since Avengers: Endgame. The 144-issue comic can be collected in 3 large compendiums btw. It's totally worth it.
@mondriansyafaat86787 ай бұрын
I don't think this season was lacking any cohesion. I feel like the narrative through line throughout the season is all about Mark and who he really is. In a sense Mark is the season long antagonist, we can see in the other universes and how heinous he can be, and arguably Anissa is meant to be a dark reflection of mark too. Even in our Mark we can see glimpses of that dark side before the final Angstrom fight. For example with night boy in episode two he was really emotionally detached in the "fight" and it was like we could see the Nolan in him. It's also built up to a lot through Cecil as he was constantly creating contingency plans to take down Mark and the other Viltrumites. Throughout the fights we can see this conflict within him where he's constantly fighting the urge to be more callous and go all out, even if he's doing the "right thing" and that culminates in him going all out killing Angstrom.

Why do people still hate Amber? She was angry in season 1 because she was lied to, which is true and she was correct to be mad, and people got so mad about her wanting to be kept in the loop. Now, in this season, she's playing the supportive girlfriend as best she can, not getting mad at Mark for vanishing for literal months because she knows he's saving lives. What do you people want? Her storyline was great both seasons, and yes, it's rough and complicated, but that's the point. It helps emphasize that being a superhero is a sacrifice. You sacrifice your body, your safety, your time, and your relationships to try and help people. It's tough, and it makes having a normal relationship nearly impossible. Amber has to just accept that her partner might dissappear for months, or just fucking die, and she can't tell anyone about it or even raise a complaint because what Mark is dealing with is just categorically more important than her entire life. That is not a foundation for a happy relationship, something the support group makes pretty clear. Amber is a great character, and honestly, I'm glad her and Mark are broken up. She needs better than what any superhero can offer. Without her we wouldn't get that chilling scene when Anisa first arrives, and that loss would simply be unacceptable.
@DyliciousTakes7 ай бұрын
Nobody hates Amber because of her being human. The risks of being in a relationship with a superhero are catastrophic, almost every relationship in a superhero movie points this out. People hate Amber for constantly whining about Mark lying when he had to keep his identity a secret in season 1. She got mad at Mark for saving lives and then got mad at him for telling her his secret identity, to then explode at him for not telling her sooner? Make it make sense...that is a very self-absorbed character right there. Everyone could understand her anger if she was oblivious to Mark's secret identity, but her knowing about it and still getting mad is absolutely ridiculous, and she did it multiple times in the season...
@OMNIhydra17 ай бұрын
@@DyliciousTakes when was she ever mad about him saving people? She was mad because he lied to her constantly, missed important events like meeting her parents, and didn't respect her enough to tell her why. He refused to tell her until he saw it as a way to end their argument over her justifiable concerns that she was not a priority in his life, which, of course, only made things worse. From her point of view, it really would feel like he was only letting her in on the secret to get out of trouble, like he was doing it just to get her off his back about leaving her standing there alone as a homicidal cyborg was attacking people. Then season 2 rolls around and she's clearly had time to think and come to the conclusion that she still wants to be with Mark despite the argument that nearly broke them up, because at least now she knows what's up and that Mark will be keeping her informed on what's going on in his life. Unfortunately, the gig fucking sucks, and one of the worst parts about it is that she feels like she can't complain about anything or she'll feel like she's putting more pressure on a guy who clearly is struggling under all his other far more critical responsibilities. It's like she said. She has no agency. If she doesn't just shut up and play the role of supportive girlfriend when he's around, she's distracting him from saving lives. If she pushes for Mark to be able to be there for her on a day to day basis, she's stopping a hero from protecting people. If she voices how much it sucks to know her partner can't be there for huge swaths of time and that she's forced to navigate life mostly alone despite having a partner, she's going to get in Mark's head and possibly get him or random innocent people killed. Everything about that sucks, and her entire arc throughout both seasons was meant to highlight that. She's in this series specifically for them to break up because the weight of supporting a hero like Mark is frankly too much for a normal person to bear, and that's what Amber is. She's the 'normal person' that Mark tried to be with to hold onto anything resembling normal in the wake of his entire world being flipped on its head repeatedly in the span of a single year.

Aangstrom could have had a lot more fleshing out if the writers weren't so god damn bent on forcing more Amber bullshit down our throats and trying to gaslight us that she was always this super supportive and not at all self absorbed cow. The main villain i don't think was as compelling and a lot of fat from all the romantic subplots could have been trimmed (or excised in Amber's case) to give them more time to expand on him. The side characters were all excellently written, they even got me rooting for Seth Rogan of all characters, i loved Rex's entire arc.
@Timquan.7 ай бұрын
Season 2 was not as good as S1 and the wait definitely murderd the metioric momentum it did have. The over focusing on trauma got tired by the end of the season and sapped out the empathy i should have had for mark by the end of the Angstrom fight. Amber was a complete waste of screentime, realistically that relationship was dead and ashes when she gave Mark hell for not telling her something she already knew and should have understood, plus she went out to go cheat on Mark knowing full well he was Invincible. There was no real reason to drag out their relationship through this season. Angstrom was a bad overarching Villain, episode 4 was the best episode, and outside of that the best moment was definitely Rex vs the LL
@DCUEmp_prinzy7 ай бұрын
Focusing on trauma was a good choice because other superhero stories skip these and it made me care for mark alot more than I did for season 1. Angstrom was not meant to be like Omni-man of last season, him being off was a purposeful choice because as Mark sees him he doesn't really know jackshit about him and we are to feel like him as well. The amber stuff is the only thing I agree with you, I like how they ended it but they were shit to get them back together in S01E08 that was done and stupid
