That’s the good reason why the late Heath Ledger posthumously won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, British Academy Film Award, Saturn Award, People’s Choice Award, and even MTV Movie Award for his outstanding performance as the Joker. Well the Joker had tattoos in the comics before but it was in else world comics like All Star Batman and Robin and Joker Dark Prince Charming. But the tattoos they gave him in the movie were more standard gangster thug tattoos. Letos Joker personality for me felt like Frank Millers Joker from All Star Batman and Robin who was more weird with a bit more of a sexual bent. I do think the difference with Letos Joker is unlike the other 3 he doesn't feel of the same piece. Each of the Jokers beforehand felt of a similar piece while with Letos Joker they wanted to modernize the character from the comics which I assume is why they took the basic gangster mob boss classic Joker and tried to update it to todays generation. I get what they were going for but I don't think Letos Joker was given enough time to develop they cut so much of him out that he was basically a cameo.

as amazing as Heath Ledger's performance as Joker was, Cameron Monahan's really steals it for me. Especially as Jerome. You can tell instantly he's the joker, without the suit, hair or makeup. Knowing the budgetary limits as well as the fact they were banned from utilising the actual Joker name and appearance, he did a killer role; pun intended. It's a fun twist on a character where I think if they had more of a budget and was able to portray the character in a movie he would be regarded as one of the Best we've ever seen
Great choice with using Hallo Mister X from New Vegas. It somehow fits very well.

I liked Jared's Joker in Suicide Squad for what it was (wish there was more of it) NOT the Justice League one though... that was horrendous. I have to say though my favorite and most accurate was Jack Nicholson's. I LOVE Heath's BUT Heath was to Joker what Jesse Eisenberg was to Lex Luthor. It wasn't the character, it was a variation of the character. Heath was a crazy killer playing the Joker. The true Joker was Jack through and through. Which is why I think Mark Hamill's version captures that so well. It's jokes with crazy. True Joker goes to Jack.

I wish they would just make a *The Killing Joke* movie. No shoehorning in DC cinema cameos or changing anything to fit *The Batman* movie series (no tumour face Joker); just a comic to film 1 to 1 adaption with the most accurate representation of the character on screen. Short green hair, purple suit, slim figure and an actor who has those lanky features. Timothy Chalant could play that character well imo, he was very a likable down on his luck version of Wonka, so applying that underdog character to Joker's origin would work so well. It might be hard to take him seriously/threatening after his transformation, but having him be this sweet shy guy before to become an absolute maniacal monster? If pulled off, it would be amazing. I know the comic story isn't that long, but it doesn't have to be a 2 hour plus epic. 80-90 minutes will do.
@2ndspringtube708Ай бұрын
Well it doesn’t have to be 2 hours ,but no theatres or executive would accept about 30 minutes movie(the comic panels are that long) ,and hey !the animated killing joke wasn’t fully terrible half of it was but the other half which was the actual adaptation was a decent interpretation
@NewOrderOfAlexandriaАй бұрын
@@2ndspringtube708 they will unfortunately have to add more backstory to Joker's comedian days, maybe show us how bad working at Ace Chemicals was? It's tricky, but that's why the cartoon movie added so much extra. Running away from the core story too much could definitely taint the live action remake. I'm glad DC is open to the idea of exploring different alternative universes in their films. It seems The Batman and Joker universes are different than the DCEU (Which is their version of Marvel's MCU) maybe DC should do more one off films like Joker from now on?

@@NewOrderOfAlexandria well joker 2 bombed at both the box office and the critical and audience score ,it has the worst comic book movie score ever ,so no idea if they will still risk it in elseworlds besides reeves universe after this fatal failure (heck there’s even reports that wb wants reeves Batman to take place in the dcu ,which might imply that they don’t want to make elseworlds anymore)
@NewOrderOfAlexandriaАй бұрын
@@2ndspringtube708 a big problem with Joker 2 is that A. I didn't really need a sequel. B. They forcefully made it fit in with the comics lore by adding two face and a new young Joker (either Harley's baby or Arthur's killer). Joker 1 worked well as a standalone elseworld film so that's where they went wrong (I think they were trying to tie this into *The Batman* universe as that Joker has a messed up face, likely cut up) I think DC should just adapt the best comic stories 1 to 1 or make original films based off characters. Instead of Joker 2 we should've gotten a Penguin (there's a TV show), Riddler or Two Face movie, perhaps all set in the 1970s with subtle nods to Joker 2019. It could've been a Gotham Verse without Batman, set in a retro world. That would've been miles better imo.
@2ndspringtube708Ай бұрын
@@NewOrderOfAlexandria as much as I agree ,joker 2 really didn’t have to be this bad ,it could’ve easily been a character study of Harley Quinn obsession rather then a repeat then ruining the first movie ,joker 2 could’ve been good or at least even decent if they at least tried to make something good rather then actively trying to ruin the first film ,I am fully convinced that they attentionally tried to make it as bad as they can so a third movie will never get green lit ,that’s how bad it is(also 1 to 1 comic adaptations isn’t really the best idea,other then stuff about comic elements not working in movies ,making something original that’s inspired or accurate enough to the comics is always the way to go ,that’s why I love the Batman)

While I used to agree with your assessment that Napier being the murderer of Bruce Wayne's parents wasn't all that great, I've come to enjoy it more via a common fan-theory. It wasn't Napier, but just a random thug. Bruce, however, projects the responsibility on all criminals. Every criminal is the one that murdered his parents. Batman sees the killer in all his prey. It does negate the concept I've also always loved that Bruce Wayne instantly and perfectly memorized the face of his parents' killer (usually Joe Chill), but I think it fits well with the Michael Keaton version of the character.

jared leto's laugh sounded so much like voldemort's, his joker is what you'd get if you threw a punk and voldy into a blender😂 best one so far is heath ledger's joker, but I'd love to see one that is faithful to the original one like nicholson's or romero's, a joker like he was portayed in the arkham games would be awesome, I hope that's what we'll get to see next.

I wanted to like gotham but couldn't get into it... I did watch only when "jerome/Jeremiah" was on, cause he was amazing! 😅

essentially Todd Phillips believed his movie became too famous, and that he was“forced to make a second“ And instead of putting it out there that he didn’t wanna make a second movie he instead it took the hundred million dollar budget got his payday made a film that was meta commentary On how much he hates the first one because he made it so good And then made it so that the fans of the first movie would hate his joker franchise just as much as he does

I think you could argue that Jack Nicholson’s Joker is more accurate to the character than Heath Ledger’s is. The fact that he just wants to commit his crimes for the sake of the performance and “art” of it, is very Joker. For all the dialogue Heath’s Joker had about being “chaos”, his motivations were extremely ideological. Compare that to Nicholson, I think his own words were “I make art, until someone dies”. He literally didn’t want Batman to upstage him and steal his press. What’s more Joker than that? And just for the record, I love the dark knight and Heath’s performance, it was perforce for that movie.

Say what you want about Leto but his Joker imho is very comic accurate. So rating Arthur Fleck above him as more accurate is crazy.
