I would be nice if Logic Pro allowed chord entry in roman numerals or NNN rather than chords names so one can generate progressions that are key independent.

If Apple's end game for Logic Pro is to turn it into the next evolution of ACID Pro, where you just drop loop in and then have Session Players play instruments based on the chord progressions, then they really need to reevaluate something. They need to at least prioritize better Hybrid CPU optimization so Cubase and REAPER aren't embarrassing them on their own hardware, and fix the ARA2 Apple Silicon Compatibility issue that really should have been addressed by now. It's been 3+ years.
@_TheModernCreative3 ай бұрын
Strong point 💪
@peterbondy3 ай бұрын
The ARA issue may be unsolvable … from my understanding it is due to how memory sharing is protected in macOS and is likely a core OS issue. I absolutely agree LOGIC must remain a professional DAW with basic issues addressed rather than it just becoming an AI tool for bedroom musicians to pretend to be musicians and composers.

I find that when these advances in technology are combined with real instruments, it can make the most unstoppable combination. Hi! Very interesting that you can import the chordprogression from an appleloop. I am working on an older recording where I wanna have the sessionsplayers to make different suggestions on bass and keyboard. Is there a way to create my own apple-loops from parts from my own song? I am talking about the whole song with drums, bas, piano and soforth. Take the vers and make an apple loop of that. How do you make an apple loop that decodes which chords are played? / Br Midmus

Now that I am re-reading, I think your request is easier than I thought. Create chords on the global track to match your old recording and all the session players will follow. You can create different chord progressions and all of those session players will follow changes. Hope that helps.

If you learn theory and then you learn how to use the ai really well (there are many many parameters), and then bounce the ai generated results to midi and edit further, it's incredible.
@b4time7185 ай бұрын
Hadn't previously considered the educational value. I agree that real educational potential is there but sadly that is neither it's intended purpose nor what this tech will be used for. This is a music construction kit that is so good and so sophisticated that it can be used with literally zero background in music theory or performance. It will only get better and that will likely happen in very short order. Once that happens beat makers and composers are gonna be hit hard. Wish it wasn't the case but hard to see AI any other way.

Yes it all depends on how you set things up within the Apple Loops library.

A minor seventh with an extended nine? In professional circles this is just called Am9. If a chord contains the 9th° then the 7th° is automatically included. If you want the 9th without the 7th, then the 9th would be called 2nd degree, like a suspension. C2 would be C,D,G.

Painting by numbers music. Why don’t people just go and learn that if they want to learn it and use the package to make it instead of just making soulless music generated from a computer. Def not a pro package now. Should be called Logic Learn if it’s going to be used to teach people chords, besides there’s plenty of plugins that do this already. Switched to Bitwig after using logic for 20 years after these latest updates and absolutely love it. Never going back to Logic now, they’re going down a route now that I am really not interested in. These new features are not much more than loops on the face of it and it won’t be long where there’s a button that just says ‘I can’t be bothered to make music, whip me something up!’

The new versions from Apple and Presonus contain only 4-5 improvements. They made them as if they were forced, everything is so artificial and you don't feel love in their work.
