Stop promoting working dogs as mere pets. Aggressiveness is within their DNA. These dogs were bred for hunting and guarding. Only responsible ownership prevents accidents. I’ve seen plenty of them doing protection and/or regular obedience training. These dogs are amazing animals in the hands of knowledgeable owners.

Hopefully someone can give advice. I picked up a rescued Scott and brought him from an urban life in a doghouse into my home here in the mountains. I want to give him time to decompress a bit before training. No shot records but I will make a vet appt on Mon to see if he has a microchip. Can he get a rabies shot even if he may have had one in the past that's still effective?
