@@2UpAndOverloaded This will be my second trip to Alaska via motorcycle. The first time I flew, and rented a Harley. This time I'm riding my BMW R1250GSA. I won't be limited to which roads I can venture on. I'm just waiting on the ferry schedules to be published at the end of Feb to plan my return route. You had some great info about the ferry frequency from Haines to Skagway. Once I have that ironed out, I'll be able to complete my planning. Thanks for all the valuable tips.

Before watching this video, I figured you were going to say people should ride Highway 1A, which runs just east of Highway 1 between Banff and Lake Louise. You tricked me. And I just got the mini 3 Pro and am loving it. Studying for the Part 107 Remote Pilot License test that you are required to have if you are going to post drone video footage on monetized social media. I'm sure you guys will like the Mini 3 Pro once you get it. That sensor protection is great. Great video as always. Hope to see you at OEX West in May or OEX Mtn in August.
@2UpAndOverloaded Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim and Val, I was unaware about that road, but now I wish I had taken it! Maybe you'll have to go ride it and make a video on it to show me 😉. And yes, I think having some sensors on the drone will make a big difference... I'm glad you're loving the Mini 3 Pro, that's actually the one I'm looking into at the moment. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@jimandvalstravelchannel judging by the area, it just has to be a gorgeous road. Even the little road we took to Lake Moraine was stunning, though I've heard they are closing it down to traffic next year. Well, when we're in the area again we'll have to go check the road out. Thanks for the advice!

Hey guys, I’ve been watching your African and Alaska videos and also the Central America ones, but I can’t find the Panama Video or the trip from Columbia To Ushuaia. Just wondering if there are videos of them and if so, where can I find them? Thanks for sharing your trips, you’re helping to keep my dream alive. Ride safe. Bill.
@2UpAndOverloaded Жыл бұрын
So our videos in that series are all flashbacks that we made later on using older footage, and so there are huge gaps missing in the chronology. But fear not, because we will be hopefully filling in those gaps soon! Sorry about the confusion, and thanks as always for watching. If you're dying to know what happened to us and all the crazy adventures we had in the Americas before we get to those videos, you can always read our books. Especially "Blood, Sweat, and Notiers" since that is all about South America.

Hi Attie Ven. To answer your question, Marisa is 38 and I am 40. We've been on the road on and off (mostly on, the pandemic threw a wrench in for a while) for over 5 years, so I started when I was 35. Thanks for watching, and we always all the questions you have. Anything else, we'll always try to answer.

Do you guys really travel so slow that Marisa has vegetation growing from her backpack?! What is the story behind that and I am surprised it's held up all the way from Alaska. Sorry if it was mentioned and I missed it. You guys will have to head back to see Peyto Lake! Look up images of Peyto Lake Overlook for inspiration. That and Moraine Lake were highlights of my ride through that area.
@2UpAndOverloaded Жыл бұрын
Ha! No we have not mentioned the flower, at least not in any recent videos, but we do get asked about it a lot. Basically, one time in Columbia I bought Marisa a fake rose because we couldn't take a real one on the road. She put it on her backpack, and then when that one deteriorated, I got her a new one in Africa, and then did the same in Alaska. It's something nice that the people behind us see and can smile at, and Marisa likes it! As far as your other comment about Peyto Lake goes, I looked it up and it is gorgeous! So sad we missed it, but I'm pretty sure there's a lifetime of hidden gems to see in that area. But that just gives us a reason to go back! Thanks for the information Zach B!

how did you afford your travel?
@2UpAndOverloaded Жыл бұрын
So we saved up for more than three years in order to pay for our travels. That was more than five years ago, and we have since supplemented our income with freelance writing, selling books, social media, and working odd jobs. What's amazing is that it hasn't been as expensive to travel full time as we expected 😄. Thanks for the awesome question!
