Brad was that black flies biting you? If so what can you use to keep them from biting you? Last year they swarmed around my legs and had to go to urgent care . Off spray didn’t work at all

Yo man, how do you always get that perfect corner of the mouth hook set when your fishing like that? I just got into catching reds off the jetties with cut bait, I most fly fish or throw artificial. Lately I’ve been finding the fish are getting hooked in the back of the throat. I was using 12/0 in line circle hook and file down the barbs, just easier for hook removal and somehow it’s always been in the back of their throat.

GO VOLS! That drone would be real handy on the NE coast of FLA especially JAX beach, dirty water until you get 150 yards off shore, but good trade, those Saltiga's are awesome, strong, light, and slick. What do you think about a live liner/bait runner reels for sharks, like a Penn Fierce 8000 LL? Would seem to be the ticket for letting them run. WTG for letting Kelton at least get a feel for what is takes to reel in a shark, he will understand better next time, maybe have him practice in the yard cranking fast with a couple of heavy sinkers. Almost Football Time in Tennessee, GBO! Be safe tomorrow, looks like it'll hit to your east.

Just remembering, back in ‘86. Desperately swimming back to shore after noticing how far from the beach I had drifted while body surfing, on a beach near Acapulco which I belatedly noticed was marked “peligro” for rip tides. As I broke into the dreaded front crawl in shark infested waters, I think I saw a guy shore casting for sharks (might have been my life flashing before my eyes). Bonus note though. Once I made it back to shore, and figured out I was going to live. There WAS a photo session going on with a bunch of bikini models. (Probably should have just thrashed and screamed, one of them might have rescued me…)

hey brad, i hooked in to a caribbean reef shark form shore, in 4 to 5 feet of water, 50 to 60 yards out, using 100lb mono with 60lb braided backing , 8\0 circle hook, lady fish as bait

Braid shouldn’t be a “backing” topshot should be between 1-200 yards and 5-6-700 yards of braid
