i did this along time ago and wanted to give some input. there is blow by and running the hose down towards the ground is a lot better idea imo having it up like that with a filter isn’t really great. it’s not sucking air in it’s pushing out if anything.

You don't need to do all the cutting of the plastic. You can just use a flathead screwdriver and pry up on the 4 corners as that closure has studs that snap into receiver holes. Once you gut the filter medium you can snap the piece back in place or leave it out.

1 helpful suggestion to the process. Instead of cutting down the center then prying the cover off. You could drill out the corner studs. Maybe easier. Great job

The automatic 68 rfe on the other hand is dog shit I just ordered 4.11 gears that way I could Band-Aid the fact it's made out of tin foil upgraded one is about 8-10 grand which I will be forking out at some point 😂 if you want to make making any power the stuff adds up 1500 beans for dual cp3 pump, $450 for head studs 800$ for airdog the list gos on 😂 and you need all of that plus a fleece cheetah which is THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS....... You gotta really love diesels 😂 they don't call it a build for nothing

I had to put my filter back in until I my catch can comes in... oil was mad blowing out the little breather.... saved my gutted filter though...

I have taken one of these filters apart without cutting. it’s not easy because the plastic is kind of brittle! you need to unsnap the clips using thin pieces of metal to stick inside to unhook them. And carefully rip the bottom off of the filter media. then I soaked both halves in gasoline to loosen the glue and I was able to peel all the filter out and snap it back together. So you get those little O-ring ports to locate the housing properly to ensure a week free seal

Why do you need to "gut" the crankcase filter if you have deleted the hose going to the intake side of the turbo.

I'm not a diesel man but enjoyed your video anyway. Try to plan out your voyage before you sail. What I'm trying to say is work at the subject for 3 minutes, then prove what you are saying by performing the actual work. Don't take short cuts because tubers are here trying to find answers to their delimas. By deleting your work causes viewers to exit early. I think you did a pretty good job.

Hey i did the ccv delete just like your vid but the truck through a service code on the filter anyway after driving for a week apparently the soot and oil is running back into the filter area not sure if it defeats the purpose or not so i opted to run a hose from the exit of cover to the bottom of the chassis to drain.

So why did you gut the filter? That is what keeps the engine oil from coming out out the valve cover and just allows the combustion gasses to escape. So now your new mod CCV filter is going to get oil soaked and mist oil out into the engine bay...

Ron Ciofalo just remove that filter entirely top side and all. It will run without the filter fine. I found out after the video you dont need the filter at all. Just run a hose from the side of the valve cover down the frame so it can vent out and drip

Ron Ciofalo yeah remember exhaust gasses and fumes will come out the filter hole. Just connect a hose to it and run it down you'll be fine brother! Your welcome no problem. I used a filter because the kit came with it but I will run a hose when the filter clogs up

It's an interval trigger. I believe it (perform service) comes on at 67,500 miles. Reset the interval (key on, no start brake 2x, throttle slowly to floor 2x key off) and you won't see it for another 67,000 miles

Martin Martinez Gancedo yes you will get a check engine light. You need some a tuner to unlock your ecm and flash the computer so it won't do regens anymore. If you take off your egr components and that's it you will throw a engine light.

I have a 2018 no delete, will the reroute throw a code? does the CDR valve have a sensor or does the PCM monitor the positive pressure in the crankcase which will throw a code?

for a non deleted truck you im not 100 percent sure. you shouldnt get a code but ive heard of people getting them. You should be good if you delete it.

I had to replace my radiator on my 2008 and wow that my good friend was very frustrating lol, the CCV delete can be annoying and another trick is to either drive the truck till she warms up, just seems to help the removal process! I’m stuck now on should I void warranty and delete my baby or stay stock which is NO fun 😒 Thanks for the video brother!

Well, I did this to my Cummis 6.7 but I only did the heater hose down to the frame & plugged the hose that going to the turbo. It all was well, until I pulled my trailer it gave me a code, the cvv code. Now, do I need to gut the filters out?

yeah you need too take out the filter. you can take it out completely and it'll be fine. then reset the code and you should be good to go. every now and then its common for the ccv cel to come out. the computer stilll thinks there is one installed so its normal. but yeah gut the filter or take it out completely.

Gutting the old filter element allows the crankcase to vent straight through it without having to worry about changing the filter when it clogs.

The monitoring systems old and new don't see the ccv. It's a service interval setup that trips the perform service message and no codes once you surpass the programmed mileage marker. Exactly like the oil change indicator.

I took it to the dealership and they tell me the Turbo Actuator is going out and needs to be replaced. This one is on them and I don't need to pay but with the limited warranty, the next one is on me. Can I do a CCV Delete like you showed on your CCV Delete video and not get a check engine light? You can do the delete but there is a chance you will get a cel for crankcase code. 4 th gens are kinda weird where some people get them some dont after removing
