Changed oil in heavy equipment for twenty years. When they would get stuck I would just hammer a pry bar through the filter and turn it. After I changed my bosses pick up truck oil, as he started to drive home, sometimes I would say, “Dang, I don’t remember tightening up the oil filter tight”

I've owned two brand new Cummins trucks. On both of them, the original oil filter was installed by the boneheads on the Cummins line with dry gaskets and at least 50 ft-lbs of torque. Fortunately, that was back when you could still get at the filter with the cup style wrench. But it still took a 24" cheater bar, and the gasket squeaked loudly for at least the first full turn. Why can't those idiots follow the instruction printed right on the side of the f%$kin filter??? I've been changing oil for 40 years....they NEVER leak when done correctly!

Watched all of these youtube vids on changing it. I just changed it from below the old school way and never spilled a drop. It's just as easy as any other pickup I have ever owned, if not easer. Didn't need to remove the wheel, or inner fender, or any of the rest of that BS. Just used the old cap style wrench. It was a breeze.
