depends what Income, When an OCI cardholder is outside Indian origin, but he is getting income in the form of rent from his tenants' property located in India. On that income, the person is required to pay Tax irrespective of his location.

Your British citizenship status will not be affected as you can stay outside UK indefinitely. You can stay in India indefinitely ans work there with OCI card. As long you have valid documents such passport and OCI card you can go back and forth between UK and India easily and freely. All you need to travel to UK is your British passport, and make sure to carry OCI when going back to India. You can renew your British passport in India at your nearest local British High Commission.

@@HumTumInEngland yeah sure for instance you said OCI has to be done just once in a lifetime which is absolutely wrong. You have to do 3 times in one lifetime. Don't get me wrong but I have seen people coming back from the airport with more than 50kgs luggage and ticket to India in their hands because they were not allowed to board the flight as their OCI wasn't valid after certain age... I am travel agent and everyday I get clients telling their travel challenges... Sharing one of the experience as having lots of clients experiences to share.... Bless you both

we said it’s a lifetime visa but if the OCI card is not valid then obviously you have renew it!! it all depends on your future plan.. and your personal preference. Currently you are living in India with all family and having a comfortable life. If you come here there will be some struggle in the beginning so it comes to your choice. It should be your decision so you won’t regret it later.

Inform your university about your current situation so they know that the delay is not from your end !! But from the visa office. Other than that you can’t do anything as there is no way to find the actual status of your visa application unfortunately
