ADDITIONS AND CORRECTIONS - The Deino CANNOT be picked up by a Quetz or Rhynio. Why? Idk. It has a low enough drag weight to so it's a bug or just some arbitrary attribute they thought the dino would be balanced by. A tuso can pick the Deino though - Thanks to Finny for pointing this out to me! - The head of the Deino reduces all damage by 50% The whole body and head reduces: Gunshots by 30% Arrows by 65% Turrets by 10% These stack with the headshot damage reduction when hitting the head. - Thanks to ReivasMC and mantk1123 for pointing this out to me! - Since the head takes 50% less damage the deino will sometimes take less damage in bossfights from a hit. It is not consistent, but this does probably push it over the edge of being undoubtably better than the rex

Also the Deinosuchus has damage reduction that damage of projectiles and a general reduction on its head

@@Doth_ I do, I tested that because the modded version had it, it have damage reduction depending on the type of projectile that it receives, from arrows ir around 65% and from bullets 30%, and also the head has 50% reduction to any kind of damage including melee, and the most interesting thing is that the head reduction stacks with the projectiles reduction, I didnt test it yet, but if it reduces the turrets damage + the reduction of the head...

@@mantk1123 I tested and you are very correct. I did a quick check to see if it had damage reduction when I was testing it and I saw the simple pistol did 70 damage when i shot its body and I mistakenly thought that was correct and ignorantly didn't test headshot damage. It's embarrassing to miss something like this, but I really appreciate you letting me know and going the extra mile to test it and share. I did test both heavy and Tek turrets and it doesn't seem to reduce the damage by 30%. It only reduces it by 10% and the head does get the additional 50% extra damage reduction and opening the mouth with the giga bite makes the turret more likely to shoot it. With capped saddle, headshots, mate boost, and imprint you will be taking like 20 damage per shot from heavies and a bit more from tek. If the turrets are on survivors only and up high you have to look straight up and be straight on with the turrets or you will be shot off and walk very very slow or the turrets shoot through the head. EDIT - I think a lot of dinos have a 30% damage reduction to guns though. Carchas and gigas take the same damage as a Deino bodyshot

@@Doth_ I Tested, yeah you right about the firearms damage, and also it reduces the metal arrows damage even more than the stone ones, by 74% (I used a Compound that does 200 per shot and it receives 52)

Yeah I knew the deino would almost completely outclass the rex (as it makes sense tbh lol) it with having dmg resistance, more dps (with charged bite and bleed) better stamina, pretty much better everything (other then speed and base hp)

They can pretty much handle what a rex can. Rex has better HP and DPS but the croc has damage reduction on the head and the giga bite is crazy strong, and it has higher levels due to no oxygen Stat distribution.

Not sure about the center bosses but they cleared the 3 on the Island on Alpha. Hatching @270 no mutations and a touch of weight stat from Island tames only. the same ones can clear the ocean caves with just 4 (2 ridden 2 on attack target. they do path find poorly in the caves.)

One important thing is, the crock has no oxi statt so it will have more points in hp and mele and so outclassed the rec once tamed and bec of the easyer imprinting it will alsow be easyer to mutate them

Not sure if this wasnt covered or if i missed it.. but the Giga Bite also causes a bleed, which is oddly stopped if you do any attack after the giga bite.. so use giga bite, wait for the bleed to stop, then giga bite again.. ❤

Giga bite > tail swipe > chomp while backing up > rinse/repeat They'll take bleed damage trying to get back to u and will take extra damage while bleeding.

I may be wrong but does deinosuchus have a sort of damage reduction, I mean I tried to sword a baby with 100 HP and it took like 10 hits and it was a max sword with 360 melee on my character

Did you harvest the meat with the regular attack or with the charged attack? Yield should be different between the two just like Bary when killing a stunned vs non stunned aquatic due to the increased damage mechanic

I just jumped back on ark, was a pvp player (10k hrs) was in a mega at the start of ASA but PvP is yuk in this game with the cryo stuff and cheating. Im just going to solo the whole game on official PvE , you think i should focus these instead of rexs to be my boss rigs?

You forgot dmg resistance that the Deino has. It will allways be tankier. Also they take less dmg from the from, about 80% less or some shit cant recall it preciselly. so facing one head on is a bad idea.
