5:54 It does stack, and it literally says it in the tool tip you have up. 6:19 it does counter huskar as his passive is "health regeneration". 16:44 you can use raptor dance to get out of puck coil because it strong dispels you so you dont get stunned. You say shard is not good but its actually insane. It makes katana stance do insane burst damage. Can easily output 3000 damage in 1.5 - 2 seconds by pressing a couple of buttons. Its really easy to pull off. Echo slash applies your dot twice or 3 times at 25 and your grappling claw applies 1 stack. with 4-5 stacks, your shard hits for 2500-2800 damage

with aghanim, the shard dmg can go even higher in short time. Combo falcon rush with echo slash will give lot of stack since echo slash proc falcon rush while you also proc falcon rush.

Ya he doesn't know about this yet I guess but I think shard is core for sure. With Aghs + shard you can swap Shodo Q swap back katana Q and the waves apply bonus hits so you can get insane levels of e stack in katana form, raptor dance applies stacks too. I was easily able to burst for 10k in demo mode with shard e, I'm sure it can be maximized further too.

Yeah. His full combo at lvl 30 and max items dealt like 50k dmg to the dummy in 3 seconds. 6k dps or something like that. But ok, that's a dummy. Then I tried it on a full build DK with dragon form and 80+ armor and he got deleted.

one thing you didn't mention is active katana E from the shard also pierces debuff immunity which gives you a reliable way of cancelling bkb tps late

Echo slash is useful for procing items, stacks from your passive but more importantly cleave damage if you have bf. When you have multiple enemies stuck in close proximity each attack instance from echo slash done to enemies deals cleave damage to other enemies behind them. That way you can deal massive damage to enemies that stay around creeps early game with extra bonus damage from ability itself. Early game if enemy decides to stay around the waves you get easy kills, if enemy stays behind the wave you have easier time farming.

the shard seems hella broken, can burst people for thousands of damage. this hero's damage multipliers are wild, if you charge and swap to katana, every attack hits twice, and both of your attacks deal the katana bleed effect, dealing an additional 120% of your attack damage over time. if you have 100 attack damage and hit someone 5 times, you actually deal like 2000+ damage. and that's just with the simple combo of using sai q then swapping to katana and attacking. the double attack can combo with katana q to hit 4 times, it can combo with grapple, this one's basically impossible to do in practice it seems but late game if ur swapping fast u can combo the shard attack burst with sai mark i think, causing all the built up katana bleed damage to crit as well. i assume to do that you would rush, swap to katana, attack, swap back to sai, ult to mark them, swap back to katana, cast shard? this hero is cool as fuck, got me feeling like sunraku

i go mageslayer most of the time as 1st item. it solves the magic dmg issue and gives time to use katana ult, hitting 2 char can almost full heal you.

I have very good results with maxing W, just for insane sustain on lane. Rest of the skills order I'm still experimenting with but maxing W first seems to work very well. You are mobile, heal a lot, and you can catch people out of position so fast. Sure I'm in the lower brackets but people are just unprepared. They see "even low health" as something safe, but then you W, heal for 250+ and suddenly they are in a significant disadvantage and panic. Add to that slow from the Q (katana form) and it's usually a kill.

Thing is he scales really well with right clicker item, and also needs a farming accelerator. Survivability item also needed. The tradeoff for getting Aghs is not getting a damage item like Butterfly which is arguably not worth it.

@bunnyfreakz well it's hard to say definitively what items are best for the hero because he just came out and people are testing. Butterfly is one of his highest win rate items (64% wr on dotabuff). His bad wr seems to come from diffusal and maelstrom which are popular buys.

@@vv2955 it does need practicing since switching between the discipline and keeping track of both cooldown is complicated, but i would consider getting aghs after getting the damage items but then again, early aghs is fun, when kez is played on mid to be able to get that farm, and even without damage items in early to mid game, kez can still dish out high damage when they still dont have any defensive items

I've won 4 times already. What I prefer is Gleipnir instead Bfury. Using the Echo Slash, it also procs the thunder from Maelstrom. It also gives you a hold so you can execute your ulti properly. Also after that I buy Khanda. It gives you crit and the damage it does combined with Grappling Claw is insane!

It's totally insane that you can apply stun with falcon rush, probably why Ame didn't grapple in after rushing. You already have the gap closer with rush and double stun chance is more damage than an extra auto. He's gonna get nerfed so much on every ability. Grapple range will go down, destroying trees on his Q will go away, his mana will go down and CDs will go up, base damage will get reduced, lifesteal on grapple will be removed, spell immunity on ult will get removed. I get that they were going for a utility ninja vibe but his mana cost is too low and his damage is too high for the player to need to actually think and make meaningful choices. As of right now he's wildly overkitted....you can use his Q dash to run through mars arena and static field, cmon. And the WORST part is that he sounds like some highschool teen anime protagonist, not like a bird! Not very DOTA, they need to keep heroes like Marci in the show and not the game.

I dont think they gonna removed lifesteal on grapple. It the only thing that keep kez longer in a fight other than his katana ult. Same with spell immunity on ult. Katana ult most purpose is to keep him alive in teamfight with those heal and spell immunity.

You want the extra auto to stack more debuff. The debuff can oneshot 50%-0 literally anyone with shard E as long as the debuff is stacked enough.

Hey speed. I am a naturalised citizen of the offlane, having enjoyed no role more than pos 3 in all of my time playing dota (since back in the day when going offlane meant going solo vs a tri-lane. Having spammed Kez ever since I got introduced to him over the past couple of days I.. honestly do not see how anyone can see this hero as anything other than an off-laner, with a flex to mid. I also think the build that everyone is doing is absolutely brain-dead, chasing the "carry" tag, rather than considering what the hero is good at. I will only say this once, but this is KEY. Battlefury is completely useless on kez, unless you're fighting cancer lancer. If you build aghs you will have everything you could ever need from a farming perspective, since you can D-Q-D-Q ancients as soon as you've picked up the aghs. The things that build into aghs are also more useful to you than a battlefury, since you get a mix of all stats, and, crucially - survivability. Battlefury does nothing for you in terms of farming when you have aghs, and aghs enables you to do what you should REALLY be doing, which is non-stop fights. You do want to get a falcon blade though for the mana regen. The second mistake everyone is making is maxing Q first. Which is utterly pointless too. At best you'll get like, 30%-40% more damage going from level 1 to level 4? Level E. Not only does it let you spam parries to shit on any ranged support trying to harass you with the lower cooldown, the damage increment is insane. You go from a 140% percent crit, to a 200% crit. Your riposte goes from 165% crit to a 300% crit. This enables your raven walk ultimate to a frankly ridiculous extent. This is an off-lane/mid-lanerr, not a carry. And Aghs is a must - it both massively improves your early game and mid game (and farming) while also allowing you to scale well into the late game. People are playing this boy so, so wrong trying to make him into a pos 1 battlefury buyer.

leveling E is very similar on the damage performance compared to maxing Q since the attack time decrease of falcon rush is quite needed. Plus you get to farm waves a bit more safely with echo slash. I tried to see the damage on a dummy with 4-1-1-1, 1-1-4-1, 2-1-3-1 and they all have similar performance in damage. Items: treads falcon blade wand Combo is sai q -> sai r -> katana w -> hit until sai q runs out. 1-1-4-1 has the biggest DoT so it wins when that fully ticks out but it also takes the longest to get going. I agree that aghs should be a faster priority, combing the Q's is simply too useful. Fury helps with mana/damage but he doesnt need the cleave to farm, Katana E does a ton for that.

@blueye95 I'd say level 7 is a bit of a trap for testing in hero demo Vs dummy, as it lets you hit a stationary target, and at level 4 you get to +2 hits in katana Vs level 1 in falcon rush, which is optimal conditions. Try out level 5 with just wraith band and stick Vs a hoodwink plinking at you, where you parry a plink and then rush at the hood. You can then micro the hood to get away. Compare the damage in those scenarios before falcon rush ends. E is substantially better and more useful for consistent lane presence.

@@blueye95 I did that test myself, and without using W (which would favour maxing E), I could dish out 1600 damage to a hoodwink with 6x health boosters with a parry riposte initiate where the hoodwink just *legs it* 3-1-1 build could *only* dish out 1200 damage to that same hoodwink. Both are still strong as hell, but a 400 uplift (25%) in damage output at level 5 with no real items is very substantial.

Seems from what I tested, Kez is an amazing mid-laner, so so carry-offlaner and idk bout support. but 1v1, he can wreck just because his trades are insane. but 2v2, you just get kited as the other person lays into you. since you need a few seconds for your quad hit to land, the other guy can literally T off on you in the process.

I totally disagree on Kez being a hard hero to play. Compare him to, let's say, Chen or Meepo, now *that* is hard. And even if you play Kez only ever using one of his weapons, he is still extremely good. Like, you can LITERALLY press only one button and then start attacking the enemy hero at level 1 with Falcon Rush, and it'll kill them or at least chip 50% of their health if they don't have crowd control.

This heros damage numbers are absurd from every game I've played with him. Sticking to katana stance and building a few defensive items and maybe one damage item you can blow up any support and most carries by just using katana stance W into Q. There is really not a lot of "Combo play" required from every game I've played him in. The potential to go way above in terms of combos is there but totally unnecessary.
