I was a big fan of Japan in the 80s went to see you live as well with sandie and the sunsets it was a brilliant concert as well still have the ticket to this day you made some very catchy and haunting songs nice to see your still on the scene David

@NnenStMartin THANK YOU! 2001 He was living in the states with his American wife at the time. I don't know why he SOUNDED more Americanish though, because he sounded totally English again by 2004.

It's funny that he ended up living in the United States when most of his and Japan's music was very European. I would have guessed he'd have chosen to live in somewhere like Spain or Italy if not the UK, or Japan itself.

@NnenStMartin The American accent happened because when he married his American wife, her young son couldn't understand David, so as a sweet and loving stepfather, he changed accents. After they separated (and the little boy grew up) he returned to his natural accent.

Once you're living in the US for a few years, your accent naturally changes. I don't think its a concious thing.

@DrChuckBMD infact, since august 2008. fatso? you mean at 14st 6lbs and 12% body fat that i am fat? despite 5 days training - 3 of which include mass building and 5 days of high intensity aerobic exericse. and of course, not forgetting, teaching yoga 3 days a week...and im fatso? i would say i would take 3 seconds to end you...that said. duran duran are by far superior to japan. if i want to write my opinion does not mean im a troll it means im using my liberty to say what i think.
