we don't, touring is a sort of race towards illness for everyone. we all get a bit weird and start to feel like crap after a bit. If there is a LOT of touring in a row then we start to get used to it, it's the sporadic bursts that can be more difficult. Quiet moments can be found but you have to ignore the soundcheck or massively loud bus engine. JHx

Coat question for the Higgs. Are there any glamorous tour tricks when it comes to your jacket in this video, such as you having a spare? I imagine it'd get clammy in there, and the short turnover between tour dates would make for one hell of a laundry quandary. You all sounded amazing in Manchester, a memorable gig. You managed to get my wife, eldest child and I in the same room, and I also bumped in to one of my footballing heroes in attendance there, too. Every time I ask my 6 year old (middle child) son for his music choice in the car, he picks Everything Everything.

Also I've made it my new ambition to be part of one of your videos, do you do casting calls? I'll happily just hold a light over one of your heads or I could play a really convincing tree if needs be...

I write little fragments of lines down or just ideas or links to things I want to come back to, quite often I include things I overhear, and especially like it when someone says a phrase and gets it slightly wrong, but inadvertently create something better that they never intended. I put all this stuff down and when I return to it I might have an idea that links several of them together and from there I follow a path towards what I want to say. Sometimes, rarely, I have a complete lyric from the word go - only Tin and No Reptiles i can think of where this has happened. Usually I have several lines that I really like, or a great opener, and then I go from there with a 'closing idea' of some kind in mind. For example, Good Shot begins with me talking about moral decisions, and being very hardline about choice and self-determination but it ends with me essentially saying "whatever man, do I even have a soul?". So the question is posed and answered, rather than me opening with that shrug - nobody would care. JHx

personally I'm not surprised as I always thought it was great! Often there is a little battle with this type of song (Hapsburg Lippp, Blast Doors, GuiFest). I do agree it doesn't quite fit on the album, it's more comedic and we wanted a straighter record.

No estimates at all so far, I have a ridiculously ambitious idea but it's slowly gestating at the moment and might never happen. I don't think I will be writing about politics as much, I have become very disillusioned (yes, even more) with all that, and very bored by "opinions", especially mine. Expect something insane. JHx
