"Everything good has to end" Young Royals stars Edvin Ryding & Omar Rudberg on season 3

The hit LGBTQ+ series Young Royals will return to ‪@Netflix‬ for its third and final season. All lead cast members will be back, including Edvin Ryding as Prince Wilhelm, Omar Rudberg as Simon, Frida Argento as Sara, Malte Gårdinger as August, and Nikita Uggla as Felice. Lisa Ambjörn will also return as head writer and co-creator.
In New York, The Queer Review's editor ‪@EditorJamesKleinmann‬ had an exclusive conversation with ‪@OmarRudbergOfficial‬ and Edvin Ryding about what they'd like to see in season three, what it's like to be the subject of so much love and attention from their passionate fans, which scene they are most proud of in season two, their own favourite piece of LGBTQ+ culture, and much more.

A 14 minute long video with no music and no snappy editing, and I'm still fully captivated and engaged the whole time?! I'm impressed. It was definitely because of the great questions asked, the thoughtful answers given, and how well the interviewer was able to adapt and adjust to their responses. The tone changes throughout were handled nicely, which made it flow smoothly and I know that is not easy. So kudos to the interviewer and the team that worked to make these questions and interview!

There is profound purpose in telling this story, at this time, on this planet. Edvin, Omar, and the other main cast members were chosen to do something paradigm-shifting for the planet in more ways than many currently realize. Through this production alone, binary/separation consciousness just received perhaps one of the biggest strikes to its false existence and destructive narrative, in recent so-called human history. Ugh noooo- it’s wasn’t the LGBTQ for me- I’m comfortably a bisexual women- nearly 30… (although I can imagine how much this would impact those who suffer from being open in there identity) for me- it was irrelevant. It’s the love story… sexuality wasn’t even a thought process for me in this show. It was simply just the undeniable, intensely passionate portrayal of romance, love, heartbreak, loyalty, bravery.. priorities.. damn incredible. Absolutely adore this show, in-fact for me, probably the best show I’ve watched in over a decade. Both actors are ridiculously talented- beyond any expectations. #biggestAUSTRALIANfan

4:54 - 6:24 this bit made me tear up😭 I live in a conservative country as a queer person and having to hide part of my identity is really suffocating, I haven't even told my friends that I'm queer because I'm so scared of being outed without being ready, and I'm scared of how others, specially my parents will react to it😭 the show really is like a breath of fresh air for me, the ending of season 2 specifically made me cry my heart out. the fact that wille admitted it was him in the video and the fact that he was smiling proudly about his choice was so strong and powerful💜 I too wish that someday I will be strong enough to be myself without worrying about how others will react to it! young royals has truly helped me in many ways, it's sad that it's coming to an end with season 3 but I will cherish this show forever! I can't thank lisa enough for giving life to this masterpiece and i can't thank edvin and omar enough for portraying wille's and simon's story so beautifully!💜

Omg I would love to hear wille sing something quietly to simon, a little romantic lullaby or something sweet just for him, like in episode 1 of the whole series, where they sing a tiny bit together.. So cute!! 😍 Isnt it beautiful that two genuinely lovely guys can carry this powerful story to the world, and still just be two lovely guys.. So many people came out during covid, or reconsidered how they want to be authentic in life, you can see why its been perfect timing for this story, and I think it only worked because of such genuine hearts behind it 💕 We can feel the difference from these beautiful humans who are just human like us 💖 Im so incredibly gutted that it will finish in 3, but also, these guys and all the cast will probably be in our sights again with other masterpieces, so I'm happy I even got to learn about them through this remarkable show. young royals is honestly the best show i've ever watched for so many reasons. i'm so grateful that i've found this show and as sad as it is to know that season 3 will be the finale i'm just happy that we will at least get a 3rd season and a proper ending to it all; i've found this show during a tough time in my life while i felt like i had nothing left anymore and had no passions as well and i'm now considering to pursue filmmaking and am hoping to major in film production one day. I have so much respect for the actors, the crew etc. they've all done such a wonderful job and i hope to see more shows/movies like this in the future that portray lgbtqia+ relationships in such a manner

I love that the play Edvin is referring to The Inheritance is directed in New York by the sane director of Red, White And Royal Blue, Matthew Lòpez. Matthew and head writer of Young Royals duscussing a crossover between the two shows in his instagram comments was a highlight for me. Lisa piinting out that the Swedish Royal family is related to the British one, so Wille and Henry would be cousins.

Interesting to hear Omar mention the Fish scene, I had picked up on that when i watched it. I'm 52, My partner is 55 and we have been together for 33 years, we have lived in places where we had to pretend we were just friends travelling. We have had the privilege of being foster carers for over 20 years, to a number of young people, some LGBGT some not. I have a friend from school living in the Caribbean and he has to hide his relationship which is incredibly sad. I love this series. Thank you for sharing this interview.
