Same! I never thought that this would be the show that would reflect my own experiences. For me, it’s Simon and Sara being half white Euro/ half latino in a very “it is important and it isn’t important” way (my mom is white European decent, dad is Mexican American, that’s a pretty rough explanation but it’s so hard to explain!), the absent and estranged father, and anxiety. My dad did to me exactly what Simon and Sara's dad did to them, show up unannounced and uninvited to an important school event. While I’m not hopeful that I will ever get the I should have fought harder for my kids that Sara got, I can be glad that she got it. And when Wille retreats to his room in full on panic mode in season 2 episode 5, rolls over in his bed with the blanket, we see they day go by and it’s clear that he hasn’t moved until Simon comes to check was wow.

It simply is a show about being human, which is why it resonates with so many people. It isn't just about being queer, there are a lot of topics and intersections in it (types of love, classism, privilege, xenophobia, biculturalism, racism, being neurodivergent/autistic, EDs, mental health, being a teen, relationships of children with their parents, bullying, I could go on and on). Also, the acting, the writing and the cinematography are excellent. We get to experience all of this in an unusual setting (Swedish boarding school for the high-classes). Wilhelm himself is unusual by virtue of being royalty. This show is too good, easily one of the best I've ever watched, if not THE best.

Wilhelm's orange sweater he took off in Math class and put it on the back of his chair. When Wilhelm was called out to return to the Royal Palace, Simon grabbed the sweater after he left the room and was fondling it. He then asked to go to the bathroom ..... [ _Why?_ ] Later, in the locker room, he told Wilhelm he went to the Principal's office ...... but we never saw confirmation of that. Simon later wore that sweater in his bedroom. What I was curious about is whether Simon would return that sweater to Wilhelm ..... but we never saw that in either season 2 or 3.

I wish they touched a bit more into august's mental internal struggle, like we never got to find out what happened to his pills addiction? Or if he ever overcame his eating disorders, they never made it clear if he did actually have an eating disorder but I am really glad he finally got what he wanted from the beginning.. to be a true part of the royal family and be a heir❤

This feels like a heartbreak. It's like I broke up. I still have no much love to give and now it's just over. I don't know what to do with all the love I still have left. I will forever love each and every person who was involved with YR and will continue to support them but it's not about that. I will obviously support the actors, writers, directors and crew. It's about the story. I am gonna miss seeing Wilmon, Salice and everyone else. I don't know how to let go of the love I still have left for them T-T I mean yeah with time it will get easier and eventually I'll reach a place where I feel happy and my heart feels full when I see them but for now It feels like I had the worse break up.

Fans like to compare _Young Royals_ to _Heartstopper_ in their acting and stories. For me, _Young Royals_ is like a full steak dinner while _Heartstopper_ is like being at a fair and eating cotton candy --- just hot air that's fun to bite into, but many times too sweet [for reality].

I have never understood that either! For me, they don't even exist in the same universe. Watching the first season of Heartstopper only told me that I didn't want to watch any more episodes of Heartstopper. Young Royals changed my perception of story telling forever. Move your story from A to B to C to D with no waisted time. Real acting needs real talent. And so wild they both had leads with similar hair game? Even thought we all know what's what, it has got to be the fact that Young Royals is not in English that has kept it from the mainstream?
