Edward Simpson Bruh, I watched a bunch from those times and I only remember a handful that were terrible lol. Maybe it depends on what you watch because I don’t remember dubs being incredibly bad. Maybe sometimes cringe, but it wasn’t horrible. Then again, dubs didn’t really start to appeal to me until around 2007/08 lol.

There where planning a "remaster" but got shut down pretty much instantly by a really big petition against it signed by about 500k people within 3 or 4 days. That was 2 or 3 years ago if I recal it correctly. I first watched Bebop back in 2002 when it was shown on the thursday-anime-hour on MTV in germany together with Visions of Escaflowne. Thank you for making this video, it made me remember why I have watched this show for about 30 or so times. Thank you and keep up your great work. I hope it is as rewarding as it should be :)

Just a note, you mentioned a “mangaka” at one point, and while there is a Cowboy Bebop manga, it was released after the anime. Cowboy Bebop was an original anime not adapting and sort of manga.

Thank YOU for finally getting to Bebop, AND for doing the dub. Ultra-high quality dubs like Bebop and Baccano deserve to be appreciated. Have you done Baccano? Got a huge library of videos. Definitely do the dub if you get to it, even the original Japanese cast think the dub is superior. Not because they didn't do an amazing job, they did, but they feel the dub fits the characters and setting better.

The animation and art have really aged well. This anime is truly a timeless classic. I also really love the style of the ships. You can see how their "fighers" were once racing ships or utility craft that they basically bolted some guns to. I'm so glad that the director managed to win this fight with the money-lenders who wanted a style they considered more conducive for selling models, which would most likely have ended up with rather generic a dime-in-a-dozen designs, rather than these truly unique, functional and quite iconic ships.

What they did better than most media today. They present homosexual characters as casual and normal and it blends in fine. Srsly I am so annoyed that so many characters only have their sexuality as a gimmick these days but actual nothing else.

7:01 when Spike slows down to catch Ein, you can see the air brakes on the Swordfish II deploy to slow the craft down. Also, re: accents, there are actually a lot of accents used in Japanese anime, sometimes almost bordering on caricature or flanderization (just look at any anime character named Mei Lin or another stock name ). But it might be missed by Western Audiences who are not already conversant or at least familiar with the phonemes of Standard Japanese.

I do love the contrast between Radical Edward and the rest of the Bebop crew. While Spike, Jet, and Faye are all jaded and weighted down by what they’ve done, while Ed is an innocent child, she hasn’t been destroyed yet.

If you love space and anime in space and the rusty future look, I would strongly recommend watching and winning the Planetes. It is a very good anime with some unique visuals and non-standard plot. Another recommendation would be Infinite Ryvius, it is very unique as well and has its charm, though it is a little all over the place.

I was obsessed with Yoko Kanno after this series came out. Once I got my hands on the complete soundtrack (8 discs! A signed photo book! Best Xmas ever!) The Cowboy Bebop soundtrack was my homework OST my senior year of high school and freshman year of college. Even nowadays, decades later, whenever I have a project that I need to focus on or just want to get in the right mood, the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is always there. Also, any new anime fans out there look up Yoko Kanno's work in the mid 90s through the 2000s. Let your ears be blessed. 😎👍🏽

Yeah. Cowboy Bebop. Definitely my top 5 english dub anime. Along with Hellsing and Black Lagoon and Samurai Champloo I recommend you check those out btw in dubbed as well. Just like Bebop the accents in the dub are so much better and realistic and the music and Champloo is just as amazing as Bebop's. Im a real sucker for lofi and hip hop in anime if its done well.

God I love Steve Blum... He dubbed Dingo in Expelled From Paradise and I watched it just because of that, I was not disappointed... The movie itself is average in case you wanna watch it, biggest issue is that a full show would've been better because it goes by fast.

The dub for Trigun is so go that the manga-ka prefers it to the Japanese audio. Since the series was written with American westerns as inspiration, the added Texan/Southern drawl added by the English voice actors added to the atmosphere of the anime.
