This video was supposed to be released alongside The Ones Who Live premiere but there were massive issues getting my footage back from so long ago. Better late than never as I know how much you guys love these compilation videos for back ground noise or falling asleep. If I could lower the sound of the "DINGS" I would. But sadly they are imbedded in the final MP4 file. If anyone has any ideas on how to reduce the sound without impacting the surrounding audio in a TIME-EFFICIENT manner. Please let me know. Enjoy the video, everyone!

Same, I was 7-8 when I first watched playthroughs of the first season, 8-9 through season 2, 11-12 in season 3, and 13-14 for season 4. She was always a bit older than me, but rewatching all of this as a 19 year old makes me so much more emotional. It was definitely jarring as a little kid because I put myself in the shoes of Clem, knowing that could've been me if there was an apocalypse. I found myself relating to her, and sympathizing with her. Ugh I love this series.

2:21:53 i'm a Violet lover and one thing i love about this scene in particular is that she's actually fully looking at you AND turned towards you while talking with fully open body language. usually, she'll be listening to what you're saying and responding, but be mostly turned away and/or making minimal eye contact. and if she is turned towards you, her arms are crossed. i believe Kent Mudle said it was on purpose, and that "you have to fight for Violet's eye-line". great character building using just body language

I grew up with the TellTale The Walking Dead series. I love how much an independent game company like TellTale really showed how much love and detail they wanted to put in a story set in the The Walking Dead series comic universe centered around a little girl growing up in the apocalypse having learned a lot from her best friend, father figure, and protector and passing it on to the next generation that needed those lessons to survive in the world they live in now. Having gotten older it makes me cry looking back on these amazing moments and memories from the different stories we got to see in this series, but even so it makes me happy this all happened. When I played through season 1, I was pretty young. My Lee was stoic yet kind and pulled punches when needed to set an example for Clementine. Every time my Lee did something, he thought of Clementine and how it would affect her. He didn’t baby her, of course, but he worked hard to keep her on a brighter path by showcasing how her current guardian did things. Without even acknowledging that one line about the bell, my Lee pulled up Ben. That kid made mistakes in a world where lethal mistakes are inevitable, and he was trying to make up for it. With the exception of an old man’s grown daughter who took the life of another in the heat of a moment, my Lee worked to save everyone he could. If something dangerous showed up, my Lee stood at the front (“BECAUSE ITS ME BEFORE ANYONE ELSE IN HERE!”). If something seemed too good to be true, my Lee stayed skeptical (the van full of food). When someone offered to take care of Clementine, my Lee was afraid he wasn’t enough and sadly accepted to let the elder take over as her guardian. When it finally came down to a rescue for Clementine, Lee told everyone exactly and immediately why they had to go save her pronto, then took the crippling consequence of the bite and cut it off despite the agony it caused him. With one hand, he pushed through the herd and rescued Clementine. To end it all, he still had some advice for Clementine. *Always save a bullet.* Even as his vision began to fade, he thought of protecting Clementine and guiding her to a better tomorrow. *Always save a bullet, people.*

The reoccurring theme of the walking dead is humanity and its importance. Humanity ties back with family, friendship, kindness, compassion, charity, and most notably being Love. And by love I dont mean romantic Love but the love of God instilled within us as humans and hence the importance of maintaining our humanity. Season 3 explores how two brothers branch off from each other, with one forgetting his humanity and the other embracing and specifically through his love for his bro that was requested by their father. Season 4 explores the importance of humanity in the lives of the kids of every generation, which you could see by how the player has the choice to ignore the heartfelt decisions for the group in favor of a more efficient yet les humane solution. It also juxtaposes how kids nowadays have so much to do and those who dont prioritize their childhood end up sad and depressed and sadly ends in self elimination. Season 2 was about how the loss of life is so much more painful and dire when it never had value. Luke's death wasnt as painful because he died after saving the player and the group so many times. In laymen's terms, just like how chuck in season 1 mentioned the quote the highlights the individual value of human life. Season 2 emphasizes the importance of putting others ahead of yourself even at the cost of your own life as even said in the bible "what good does it do a man when he gains the whole world but loses himself". And season 1 is a culmination of why family matters and why it isnt death that we should fear but it is the loss of our humanity.

Going with Kenny is so good imo it shows how much Clem viewed him as a sort of father figure and you even have the option to tell him you love him which is so sweet.

The fact that David gave Javier such grief over not having any respect for family is laughable when you consider that ever since the outbreak (roughly four years) Javier has gone out of his way to protect Kate and David's kids, while David made absolutely zero effort in trying to find his wife and kids - just accepting they were probably dead and went on with his life. David is a certified selfish prick.

The ending to Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 1 is so powerful that I once saw an edit of it where Lee and Clementine's faces were replaced with Kenny and I still cried.

Originally, Lily in the game was meant to be the same character who ends up killing Lori and Judith in the comics during the prison attack with the Governor. There was an achievement where after you abandon her, it said, “Woodbury Bound.” But it was removed for some odd reason.

I noticed a neat little detail to your Carver is the white piece in chess. In chess, white always goes first, and Carver attacks first, but this doesn't always mean you are at an advantage, as shown with the Walkers and Haus, it's more about how we respond to each other's attacks that dictates who wins in chess.

I love your analogy of season 1 correlating with the 5 stages of grief and I can totally agree. I’d even go as far as to say that the whole series could be set up in that mindset. All of season 1 was based around denial. Like you said, the group’s denial of the apocalypse and how to function in the post apocalyptic world, Kenny’s denial over duck’s bite, Clem’s denial of Lee’s bite, that one guys denial of his family dying and refusing to let go of his wife’s walker head. Season 2 is the epitome of anger. Christa’s anger towards Clem. Kenny. Enough said. Carver. Again, enough said. Clem’s anger with either Jane or Kenny, no matter what choice you make. Season 3, Javier is bargaining with David and his community. Season 4 reminds me of depression as Clem and Aj frequently talk about the PTSD from the ranch, Aj’s skewed view of the world and knowing no different and Clem desperately trying to teach him how to be a survivor but also being a good person. James seeing that Aj is not a good person and reminds him of how he used to be. And of course, at the end when we all think Clem was going to die. I think if season 5 had been created, I’d like to think that it would wrap up the series with acceptance. Accepting Clem can no longer bear the burden of the world for Aj as she’s maimed and weaker than before. Accepting they finally found a home. Maybe even having Aj accept that he’s different from the kids who weren’t born during the apocalypse and navigating that situation the best he can.

Very small and unimportant thing, but in 1:28:12 coming from Hispanic heritage, I love this small detail that I missed the many times I’ve seen this season being reacted to. It feels very natural especially considering clementine isn’t Hispanic and is probably not used to saying/talking in the language that Javi was taught to speak!

I'm surprised at the Jane hate, tbh. From my point of view she was just someone who was deeply hurt and frankly I can't blame her for the vitriol and the boohooing (but I'm also a natural-born pessimist in most situations, I prefer being pleasantly surprised than disappointed) because clearly after losing her sister she felt like everyone needed to be able to take care of themselves and she just wants to keep moving forward. Also, as underhanded as her trick was, and maybe it's just because I grew up with a parent who was a lot like Kenny in all the bad ways, I kind of agreed with her takes on Kenny.

Just some speculation, but i always interpreted the Wellington-Ending as Kenny essentially walking off to commit suicide. He has nothing left to live once he goes out there. While it was heartbreaking to see him die in Season 3, i honestly prefer that ending for him. That way his last action was saving Clementine and AJ.

I sided with Jane on my first playthrough, and I think the face I made when Clem found the baby and Jane's voice calling our as Clem soundlessly carried the baby away and left Jane to die was impactful enough that I'd choose it again, especially since (spoilers) you don't get to continue with him anyway.

Come to think of it. When I had the chance to drop ben its like a switch flipped in me and was an early sign of later sadistic habits. After i dropped ben i made an active effort to try to kill as many as i could as fast as i could in the second game. Didnt play the 2 after but if i had with that same friend i imagine that trend would have continued.

I bought the complete edition on Steam when it came out just so I could play all the games in sequence, and truly get to marvel at them. But god da** did it take years off my life, not in a bad way, but after predictably crying after Lee, Kenny (at Wellington and in Death), Clementine (leaving Javi and in presumed Death), had experienced such an emotional rollercoaster that I truthfully cried for an hour straight. Thinking Clem had died in season 4 really made me realize similar to some sentiments we share, that we had been on this journey right next to Clementine, "losing" her made it kinda human for us. Wrapping the series with a bow on top, and made me thankful for being able to experience these games and attachments. Removing art from artists is hard with TT, but da** am I glad they made me hurt with this series. Here's hoping that it comes back in some capacity...

Yeah. People complaining about how choices dont matter especially in season 2 is genuinely really annoying. Like as you explained; Its a choice you make, the world is stil lgoing to do its thing. But even in s2, Clem is a little girl but everyone acts like she's a grown up just because it's a grown up playing, she isn't really going to know better at all

I know people don’t talk about him enough but Ben is one of the characters I love to look at the most, his whole character becomes is so good if you look between the lines, he kind of reminds me of myself, trying to help but I mess up sometimes, but he’s just trying to help and that’s what I love about him, and I love if you allow him to live, his character flourishes and reaches it peak until he meets his untimely death. Ben might not everyone’s favorite even for me he’s not THE favorite but he’s up there and still a really good character, I just wish some would see him that way.

I never sided with Jane, but here’s my headcanon for understanding her ploy a little better. I think Jane sort of snapped and saw Clem as a replacement sister for Jaime, and wanted redemption. She talked about her sister’s death as an inevitability, but I think she showed signs that it still weighed heavily on her. Thus, the insane plan to drive Clem and Kenny apart- still think Kenny was the better bet 100%, but in my mind that explanation is better than “Kenny angry, Jane stupid”

this game (ESPECIALLY Season 1 and 4) taught me to never give up. And thats something really special to me considering its not usual that a game series give you life lessons, sure, the feeling of nostalgia matches that, but I enjoyed each part of this series. Season 1 was like you said, about not being glued to the family you were raised by or raised yourself, those 5 episodes truely taught me trust and so much more. Season 2 is in my opinion REALLY underrated, but it definetly taught me independence and knowing that I dont need a guide for everything. Season 3 taught me jackshit im not even gonna lie, I guess it was cool to see some hispanic representation, and Clem was a badass. Season 4 taught me exactly what season 1 did but somewhat better and made me cry in the final episode. I still prefer season 1, but I'm so glad I discovered this game. Thank you Telltale.
