My biggest problem with the story is how fast Versio changes sides. For someone who has been serving the Empire for a long time, the naïvete on how they treat non-human species is just weird and the instantaneous switch flip is even weirder. No conflict of conscience or trying to rationalize, it is just an immediate switch to traitor.

BIG agree. At the very least have her stay until near the end and then play as Hask. Way too many things have been doing the "bad guy turns good" or "They've always been good but never knew how to do it and later learned" and it was just so boring of a trope by this point. I love Forceh Unleashed more than almost every other Star Wars game and despite doing the same, it was less "full evil to full good" and more "full evil to semi-evil for the sake of good" because with what he does he definitely is not keeping to the Jedi's style of mercy and holding himself back for the enemy's sake.

I feel that the game abandoned the empire storyline to early. I think they should of shown some origins of Inferno Squad where they're on a mission with Vader or Boba.
@mitchellhayward64922 жыл бұрын
One pet peeve I always have is how the word "empire" is used to refer to the "bad guys". In the case of Star Wars, the Empire is a Galaxy-spanning government. 90% of the Galaxy is part of the Empire, so if you grow up on a world like Alderaan, Corellia, or Naboo, you don't "join the Empire". You're already a citizen/subject. The wording that should have been used from the very beginning of this franchise is "military", which would really drive home the point that the Rebels are fighting against their own nation - not fighting just a bunch of stormtroopers, TIE Fighters, and star destroyers - but your own people; like fighting our own country's government and military. And attached to this idea, I recall Garrick Versio's line "the Empire is our home". As much as I am disappointed in this story, I like to think that his actual meaning when he says that line is "our home is not just one world, we have millions of other worlds we can call home". And come to think of it, if you forget about the doomsday context of the scene, and think of the line that way, "the empire is our home" sounds weirdly... nicely patriotic.

I'd argue Fin wasn't the first "trooper" to remove his helmet, that belongs to commander Cody in Revenge of the Sith. Also, I wouldn't say the messenger guard that gave the orders for Operation Cinder was "foreshadowing" of Palpatine's return, it was just a recording he made in case of his untimely death to give his last "F" you to the galaxy: If Palps doesn't survive, he'd make sure the Empire/Galaxy died with him along with burying any of his secrets.
@fancyowl28972 жыл бұрын
The campaign for the game wasn't bad. I'm someone that vastly prefers Legends/Expanded Universe to Disney's Star Wars, but there are some gems tucked away in all the debris that I can appreciate. I just wish we had a game where we played as an Imperial to truly see their side from start to finish as opposed to another defector (though those stories are fun too). That's why I loved the original Battlefront 1 and 2 campaigns because the second especially has you play as a clone in the Clone Wars and the Galactic Empire and hearing those journal entries is nothing short of spectacular. They really drive you into the mindset of a clone going through those events.

I think there’s a lot from the game to unpack from the main story about fixing a broken family, understanding trauma, and finding one’s place in the world. Also the game so beautiful.
