Amy I really appreciate the amount of preparation you did to film this video. I watch many other knitting podcasts and the creators scramble around grabbing things and struggling to remember yarn used or name of the pattern etc. You have all of that prepared and I appreciate it.

You managed to finish SO MANY projects this year, it's really impressive. I also watched your "Disappointments of 2023" video and it's too bad about the Uppbót and the Whitmore, but that Zipper Sweater turned out wonderfully and your Lanikai is possibly my favorite thing from this video.

I always add a mini gusset to the fish lips kiss heel for the same reason you mentioned. There’s a free pattern that has a mini gusset called Friendship socks that you can just use the mini gusset from. I actually only add 4-5 on each side instead of the 6 in friendship socks and that adds just the little extra to the diagonal that I need

I would think twice about super wash yarn for your husband sweater, I did one for my husband that grew to the size of a dress and then I tried drying it, and got holes in it, and I also tried over dying it black which did not go well… now it’s a Friday the 13th sweater for Halloween!😂

About your gauge trouble - there could also be a difference between your gauge knitting flat vs. knitting in the round. A lot of people knit tighter when it's in the round.

I do love all your finished objects, always a cozy video to watch ! I did knit the Weekend Hat too and I have to say I am a tight knitter, but I ended up sizing up to a 5mm needle (recommend size is a 3,5mm needle), and it did fix all the sizing issues I had prior : the hat doesn't feel to tight around my head, no mark on my forehead, it doesn't slide up... I would really consider changing up your needle size if you do plan on knitting on again in the future, because it is quite a warm and comfortable hat if you do get the fit right !

Thank you Amy for all the prep you did for this video. Actually, you ALWAYS prep so well. 😊 Like everyone else, I’m so impressed by not only how many things you made but the variety. I’m always sitting with pen in hand when I watch. You are very inspiring. Your opinion on each item is also most appreciated. Regarding your swatching… you didn’t mention whether you swatched in the round. I’m amazed at how much looser I knit flat. And be sure to swatch with the exact needles (wood or metal) as I’ve also found quite a difference. That’s just my findings but it might be worth testing for yourself. I look forward to each new podcast 👍🏼 😊

Hi Amy, you are my favourite podcaster, and I really appreciate your 2023 projects review. You are very prepared and give all the important information without the excess rambling. And you also give an honest feedback about how the project turned out for you and the yarn comments. Thanks to you I realized that dropped shoulder sweater should have some more positive ease and possibly be made with the more flexible yarn. I have one dropped shoulder pullover and I never knew why I am not wearing it. It turns out it does not have enough positive ease, similar to your cool beige sweater. You have made tons of beautiful projects, and it was a pleasure to watch. congratulations 🎉

Gauge swatching - I have difficulty getting gauge and measure my gauge swatch before and after wetting/washing. Also after washing I do not pin swatch - just lay flat on a towel and measure gauge after the swatch is dry. I usually find the gauge fabric ‘look’ I like - then determine my gauge st/“ & based on this I change the size I knit, usually going up one size to get the smaller finished size I want. All of your 2023 knits are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

It was fun to see all of your knits! For “husband” yarn, I have used Queensland Collection Kathmandu. It comes in DK and Aran (but I knits like a worsted). It’s tweedy and soft - I think it’s merino, silk and cashmere. It’s great to knit with and I have knit multiple sweaters for my husband out of it. He wears them all the time!

A lot of people don't have same gauge when they knit flat vs. knit in the round. Then when you knit in flat, you are purling every other row. And a lot of people have a difference between their "knit" and "purl" length. Try to swatch in the round. You don't need to knit all the way around. Knit the required amount. Let's say 10,5cm then let about 11-12 cm yarn piece unknit (that way you can put your round gauge swatch on a flat surface for measuring.) Join your yarn to the other side and knit in the round. Less knitting, flat measuring gauge but knitted in the round. I am one of the lucky ones. My knits and purls have same length. So I can swatch flat. I never pin my swatches tho. I put them right side down to prevent the curling. When that side is semidry I turn the wrong side and it drys very flat. No pins, no unwanted stretching.

I love love love your podcast. Also this is kind of weird, but I knit a sweater using Sunday and tynn silk mohair and I also felt it was so prickly and itchy. I ended up putting it in a ziploc back and put in the freezer (crazy I know, but I did some research and it does something to the fiber) and it helped so much it isn’t near as itchy. 🎉 maybe that could help the Monday sweater as well ?

Yes! Cast is an irregular verb. You do not add 'ed' to it. Ive noticed other Podcasters doing this. The past tense is ' i cast on', ' i have cast on, i will cast on'. Can say i am casting on. I do love your analytical style for both pattern and yarn. I love fingering weight and linen for summer. Was the quince&co. linen yarn hard to knit with like the knitting for olive silk?

I have no idea why anyone tucks their sweaters in their pants or skirts. It looks silly and adds lbs to their appearance. It looks as if you just came from the restroom and didn't check to see that when they were doing their pants up they forgot to look in the mirror 😂😂😂 Also the Wool of the Andies sweater is nice, I wouldn't frog it. It will become bigger as ot streches out in time.

FYI there is no such word as “casted on” as that in an incorrect conjugation of the verb cast, so please say cast on as it means past and present tense
