You can use insulation for pipes to put in the sides when you are blocking your sweater to avoid flat lines :)

The storm sweater looks great. It was interesting that you said it was a more modern fishermen's sweater because I looked at it and it reminded me of the classic fisherman's gansey, which is older than the cabled arran jumper
