Glad to get to listen to Curtis's stories. Reminds me of the Chinese restaurant that our family frequented in Columbus, Ohio in the 1960s called Jong Mei (a transliteration of China America 中美) where my Chinese "auntie" and "uncle" used to dote on us two brothers and pinch our cheeks and teach us how to use chopsticks properly as well my the of U of M experiences (including as an atheist my so-called Jewish (not my background mind you) Christmases in Ann Arbor in a Chinese restaurant on Liberty St. in the '90s) and my brother's own struggles in coming out.
